there’s so much more to twitter than it’s terrible interface or functionality. it is a truly global website and operates on a massive scale - in addition to human users theres bazillions of bots (lots legit) hammering it 24/7. I can’t think of many more sites out there that operate on similar scale. It isn’t easy to build something like that.
Yeah, but the big tech companies already know how to do all that stuff. An MVP could literally just be a Mastodon fork. Then if they can leverage their existing customer base into network effects for the new platform, start scaling it up.
On the plus side absolutely nobody is going to see trumps bullshit now
Seems almost impossible that Elon has anything to do with operating Tesla or SpaceX. Those companies do actually function on some level. And it seems equally unlikely that he would be hands off by choice given how we’ve seen he runs Twitter. Odds that he really is just a CIA front have risen exponentially from 99.8% to 99.9%.
I think he has an entrepreneurial skillset, creating a company out of nothing, doing bold things, running companies like a lean startup, creating and pumping a brand. People of a more intellectual frame of mind tend to ridicule this skillset and pretend like anyone can do it, but it’s a real skillset. It is also basically useless and almost certainly counterproductive for running something like Twitter.
For every 5,000 fish that enter the main event one of them will run like Jamie Gold.
We’ve progressed to the “cash games after the score” part of the story.
I forgot about Space Karen, literally lol’d
People talking about creating a twitter clone, didn’t twitter lose money? Why would Google want to lose money?
Very real chance contagion from this takes down Tesla/SpaceX/Boring/Submarine Rescue in Thailand Co./etc.
Very few competent people will want to work for this guy ever again and not just at twitter.
How much money do they make on gmail or google docs?
Like $4.99 a month from me. Best deal I currently got going on anywhere.
I don’t pay anything for either.
I have a couple of email accounts tied to my business domain name and a lotta email storage.
