Half the US population is diabetic or pre-diabetic. That’s a pretty big potential constituency. Problem is most don’t know.

The new insulins are mostly off patent and are better because they slowly release insulin in a more controlled way.
The fuckery is that I think the future is automatic insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
And ftr im way outside of my expertise here. I generally do not give a fuck about my patients blood sugars unless theyre in dka/hhs

We have a weird system. Gee whiz is going to be great but not offering folks options on cost.
But then again it’s a horrible system that forces the lower income folks to make economic choices about their medical care.
Iirc there’s some really stupid regulation and likely some price fixing involved too
