Iâd read a couple of articles where supposedly some GOP folks that have seen the files are saying whatâs in there is way worse than you might expect for him (things like clearly underaged half-dressed girls in his lap), and are legit spooked. Iâm taking these stories with a grain of salt the size of Cleveland, but if itâs true, then things could finally get interesting. /SSC

Exactly. Itâs better if the files arenât released. Everyone can just let their imagination run wild and it will stay in the news cycle.
If they are released and even if weâve got him dead to rights raping a kid, MAGA will just shrug, say âfake newsâ, and move on. Then heâll do something batshit insane and this will be forgotten.

I can fast-forward to what will happen. Some Republicans will be âdeeply disturbedâ by them. Trump will use his normal throwing shit strategy talking about how theyâre deep fakes and he barely knew Epstein. It all gets memory holed in like a week.
I do think if youre in the media and get some bombshell evidence you need to build to it. Release some stuff, then once it seems like it might be making its way out of the news cycle, go up a notch. Rinse repeat. It probably still doesnât matter, but it at least keeps it in the news as long as possible.

If this is true, then why wouldnât the democrats have used it in the 2024 election? It doesnât make sense. Itâs like if you were in a political tug of war with the opposing party and you get a smashing, up and down the ballot, countrywide electoral victory and then choose to capitulate. It does not make sense.
Maybe they didnât know. Or couldnât get at the evidence. Too many Merrick Garland/Jack Smith types insisting on norms blocking the way. Or too many of their own friends or donors implicated. Or they were afraid of talking about it, losing anyway, and being put at the top of Trumpâs enemy list.
Heâs not letting this bone go so easy.
Obviously if these emails were released when Epstein was alive then it would be very easy for Trump to dismiss them by attacking the messenger, correctly saying Epstein is just a lying sleezeball, etc.
So imo âthey hit differentâ the further we get away from Epsteinâs death.
Yeah, hearing from Epstein in real time would be pretty easy to discredit. But now they have to argue that Epstein was sending lying emails to people years ago and hoping that one day theyâd get released in order to hurt Trump. Which is of course absurd, but also the argument that MAGA will accept.
