Donald J Trump: Rip Van Winkle edition

Trump gets to keep the interest, he just can’t move the money unless they OK it. Surely they know taking real estate as collateral is not a good idea.

President Trump makes Chubb a government company.

Hey remember how Deutchbank let Trump get away with all kinds of nonsense?

Trump put up deeds to a broom closet at maralago which “many have said” is worth $15 trillion.

Must be hard to turn away the clout of having serviced a president. Chubb just got real chubby.

A company doing this for the heavy favorite to be president in 10 months seems like a good business decision even if they never recoup a dime here. What am i missing?

They also should have charged 10-20 million for the service so assuming they don’t just lose the 90+ million they should stand to make a bit of money…

Nothing. The CEO of Chubb is Trumpy and is the son of the CEO of AIG, who we all bailed out in 2008. Bootstraps.

Right like I just think it’s possible Chubb sees this as a promotional cost. They will get a fair amount of business from people who see Chubb as legit for having done one for a former and potentially future president. Eat the $100 million to make ten times that.

Well there’s that too. The company may think this is the right thing to do.

This is the only way Trump can get a Chubb.

CNBC describes it differently

The DA told Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan that his prosecution team is prepared to start Trump’s trial on March 25 as currently scheduled.

But, Bragg wrote in a court filing, “We do not oppose an adjournment in an abundance of caution and to ensure that defendant has sufficient time to review the new materials.”

And yet they can’t stop lining up to work for him.

Judge Cannon has decided not to dismiss the charges in the Documents case.

Saw a theory that she reserved the right to dismiss later and if she does it during the trial, then double jeopardy might attach.
