Donald J Trump: Rip Van Winkle edition

“I didn’t see anything. I didn’t hear anything. I have nothing to say.” Compelling.

guy that i was friends with in elementary school got fired from his job and sent a letter to his former boss with white powder saying something along the lines of “enjoy the poison” or some nonsense… and signed the letter.

building was evacuated for 2 days. fbi was involved.

in the meantime, he ran for city auditor. after being arrested and charged. won city auditor. before he could take office, he had his trial. found guilty. got a year. resigned from city auditor.

even smart people are dumb af.

SC status: still waiting!

I just realized something - if Trump actually won the election in 2020, isn’t he constitutionally ineligible to run again per the 22nd Amendment?

I’ve wondered this myself, although I know MAGA guys give no fucks about what the rules say.

Nonetheless, I feel like somebody should be pursuing this. If for no other reason to make things a little uncomfortable for Thomas.

lol wasn’t he already floating that 2016-2020 shouldn’t count because of RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA so he should be eligible for 2 more terms.

Awaiting details, but if I’m not mistaken, $100 million is somewhat less than the $465 million he owes.

I think it is

In a filing with the Appellate Division, a mid-level appeals court, Trump’s lawyers said the “exorbitant and punitive amount of the judgment coupled with an unlawful and unconstitutional blanket prohibition on lending transactions would make it impossible to secure and post a complete bond.”

They said a $100 million bond, together with Trump’s “vast” real estate holdings and ongoing oversight by a court-designated monitor for the Trump Organization, would be more than sufficient to secure the judgment.

Trump is also seeking to avoid posting a full bond during an expected appeal of last month’s $83.3 million defamation verdict in favor of the writer E. Jean Carroll.

He has asked the judge in that case to let him appeal without posting any security, or alternatively by posting at most a $24.5 million unsecured bond.

So does this mean the AG and Carroll can go after the difference between the full amount and what he has come up with, or what?

Womp Womp

But he’s a buh buh buh buh billionaire. And a bidnessman to boot.

He’s just negotiating. He’s a great negotiator.

The way I read it is that he is asking the court for permission to not put up the full amount now. If the court grants that permission, then James/Carroll wouldn’t be able to go after the difference now, but if/when he loses on appeal, then they can both receive the amount he’s putting up as escrow and also go after other assets in order to collect the full amount.
