Donald J Trump: Rip Van Winkle edition

I’m thrilled to learn that Eric Trump and I do not spell “chode” the same way.

Just one more thing that he and I do not have in common.

Know someone who knows someone in the jury pool. Report from the inside is that Trump smells.

I might have to put you on ignore so I never have to learn this isn’t true.

If the judge is serious about preventing Trump from intimidating jurors maybe he should expand the gag order to include offensive odors. But I don’t know if it would do any good.

Can he not quote political commentators? That seems dicey. Hopefully, all these judges are good and experienced who won’t take the bait for causing a potential mistrial or an overturning on appeal

He cannot make or direct others to make statements. By some interpretation that might not be what he’s doing here but he’s relaying and amplifying the message so in effect it’s definitely over the line imo.

Edit Ofc I am not a lawyer so we’ll just have to wait to see what the judge says.

Like, these people think the judge will intervene tomorrow rather than wait for the scheduled hearing. We’ll see.

True, and they release a lot of videos that just rehash the same little bits of info. They are good for getting the language directly from the legal documents that are filed and then skipping the rest.

Juror is excused

The juror says that she has concerns because “aspects of my identity” have been out there and she’s concerned she will not be able to act fair and impartial.

“Yesterday alone, I had friends colleagues and family push things to my phone questioning my identity as a juror,” she said.

She is excused.

Judge rules media cannot publish jurors’ answers to question about employers

Judge Juan Merchan ruled media outlets cannot publish the jurors’ answers to question 3 on the questionnaire. It will also be redacted from the transcripts.

Questions 3a and 3d ask: “Who is your current employer and who is your previous employer?”

The summaries I read described the type of job the the jurors had, but didn’t name the specific employer. But maybe some places were giving more info. Seems like a problem, combined with the other type of info that is out there.
