He very well might die before going to trial, being convicted, and being sentenced yeah. That could easily take 2-3 years. The guy looks like he could easily die tomorrow
This dude just made every governor in the country blow him for medical supplies (which often as not he then didn’t deliver). A lot of you seriously underestimate just how much ego it takes to become governor of a state. You don’t amass that kind of power to not have the ability to get even with people who fucked with you.
Further in blue states there are few things that would be better for your political career than having Donald Trumps head on your wall when you were the AG. There’s going to be a fucking stampede to get to this guy when he’s vulnerable.
Just as bad (for him) is that he’s worth more to the GOP dead than alive the day he leaves the WH. Alive he’s a pain in the ass and keeps tweeting endlessly, and still has WAY too much sway with the base. Dead he’s a martyr and can be quasi venerated like Reagan. Him getting obliterated by Democrats and ‘the Deep State’ is actually super valuable to them. They are going to offer tons of thoughts and prayers but do nothing substantial to help when the wolves come for him.
It’s worth mentioning that despising DJT privately is something pretty much the entire GOP establishment can agree on. He made them fellate him every day for 4 years lol. They have egos too. Mitch used him, but there’s absolutely no reason to believe that Mitch likes him as a person or would do anything but smirk at the news that something bad had happened to him after the 2020 election.

I think it’s impossible, but maybe the unicorn outcome is a Biden EC win with a Trump popular vote win. Get the Republicans up in arms and pushing for EC abolishment, and maybe get the eDems to realize they picked the two worst possible candidates back to back.

If Biden loses the popular vote and wins the EC all the Dems will be too busy explaining how them’s the rules and it a fair system to do anything about changing it.

That’s the point. We need the “fuck your feelings” Republicans to be the ones pushing for it, because they actually get what they want. Then we need to work on getting better candidates on the Dem ticket going forward.
