Per 538, the remaining Warren supporters were much more evenly split in their second choice, not to mention that I am skeptical of the notion that her followers (or the followers of any loser) would be more likely to follow an endorsement of a loser for a big underdog rather than just going for the guy who looks all but certain to win it.
I mean all Trump has to do now is say he’s take a look at considering free healthcare in the wake of the coronavirus and he’s to the left of Biden on healthcare. Seems like a great way to lock up four more years, he doesn’t even need to have any intent whatsoever of doing it.
I don’t understand the garbage you just wrote, I’m not going to try too hard since I often make myself dumber reading your posts. You are a bottom 5 poster on this site
The difference is tribalism, a lot of the far left posters on this site are so far up each other’s asses they can’t see the forest from the trees. If you’re not in there with them you’re obviously the clueless enemy
Ah, yes, but we are all supposed to believe that Bernie scoring some sweet dunks at a Fox town-hall is going to break the spell this multi-billion dollar machine has over the right? Jlawok.gif Y’all are just as delusional as you think I am.
No one here believes or is arguing that Bernie going on Fox News is going to “break the spell.” The argument was that it’s going to reach (and possibly sway) voters who wouldn’t be reached otherwise.
Re: what’s going on with me, I dunno. I spent this weekend home with my family who are all decent people, but also very religious and conservative. That may bring out my contrarian side more than usual. I’m also probably becoming more sensitive to echo chambers/tribal behavior, and I see a lot of that around here. For whatever reason I have felt more motivated to push back on what I see as tribalism around here, even if it is pulling in a direction I agree with (The clips of Bernie Sanders’ Speech from that town hall were good, way better than Biden ever would have done). I’m probably triggered, too, because some of y’all’s takes about people involved in Dem politics are wrong. And it’s they way they are wrong that really bothers me. Often there seems to be a complete inability for some here to realize that people who have similar goals can look at a situation and come to different conclusions about the best way to achieve those goals. Instead it is the default around here to assume that the people supporting candidates, or even the candidates themselves, have the worst motives. I know many people in the so-called Dem establishment, some of them very well, and the caricatures of these people’s motivations and goals that get tossed around here quite frequently, and that are accepted by many without question, are way off base. For whatever reason, that bothers me, and recently I’ve felt like pushing back on it more than I previously have.
Ok when Joe Biden says he’ll veto m4a legislation if it makes it to his desk, am I supposed to walk away from that thinking we have similar goals?
When Pelosi flies to Texas to campaign for a congressman who votes with trump 70% of the time, I’m supposed to think we have similar goals?
Wtf are you talking about? The party leadership is diametrically opposed to most of the things I support, even though they pay some lip service to some of them.
Ok you’re right I watched the video and I think that’s a dumb tweet. I can rattle off 20 other instances of dem establishment candidates doing and saying things that are very much against what I want to see happen though, so the point still stands.
