George Bush’s “compassionate conservatism” was always bullshit, but he at least pretended that compassion and respect for others (as long as they weren’t non-white, poor, or living in the Middle East) was something the party cared about. Trump’s Republican party has cast compassion and respect as the telltale signs of The Other. You can’t be in the tribe and have either.

not true actually. there was a period where we diagnosed people without a test for awhile.
Actually this is what I can understand best; so far I got through this without having someone else poking around in my nose, and I would rather get vaccinated every week before that happens.
