Nirvana and The Wall is probably what I’d choose.
I feel similar in that love spreads is one of my favorite songs but otherwise I can take or leave stone roses
I fail to see the relevance of these to Covid-19?
Easy The Wall and Nevermind.
OK computer is a snap pick for me then I guess nirvana. My joy division hot take is that Ian Curtis kinda sucked but they were good musically. Which maybe isn’t a hot take since new order was seemingly a good bit more popular.
My friend jammed with Ian Curtis and though he was great… Think it was in Manchester too.
He played a few theatres with him at one point.
It’s the what to do when stuck indoors, I suppose but could go anywhere…
Yup… Tough choices for me to leave out OK computer
Don’t get me wrong, that would be sick
Shocking to me that loveless isn’t on any of those. Definitely an album that if you like it at all you can listen start to finish.
He’s a bit older than me and sitting one night with other friends he started telling us his student days of meeting one of his stars, I never really new at the time who Joy division was as I was a young nieve idiot, still am I suppose.
And he was so humble about it.
Edit: Scotland is the absolute best for meeting stars and music rock stars as its a small place and there’s only so many hotels and such that they can visit so we know where they’ll be 24/7 and most decide to just roll with it…
Even Beyonce loved the Scots down to earth attitudes
- Clash and Bowie
- Lou Reed and Pixies
- U2 and Pink Floyd
This might get me permabanned, but Nirvana is the most overrated band of the last 30 years. blech.
It’s all subjective and doesn’t matter
Made my joke in the other thread into a meme
I think those 2 of 9 things are interesting, but this isn’t the thread for them at all.
Ziggy Stardust and After The Gold Rush
L.A. Woman and Harvest
Never Mind The Bollocks and The Wall
In the spirit of quarantine quirks, I have taken to saying “Narrator: …” for stuff in person or if we are watching a movie. Like a character in what we’re watching says, “This had to have happened for a reason.” I said, “Narrator: it did not happen for a reason.”
Which gave me the surely hilarious opportunity to explain to my wife why I was suddenly speaking in omniscient POV.
