COVID-19: Chapter 9 - OMGicron

My company put the smackdown on anti-vaxxers. Get your vaccine or goodbye. Even if you already work 100 percent remote, and even if you are a contractor. They said if you don’t believe in science, then we have no place for you in a research organization.

Most businesses should feel this way as anti vax indicates a huge character flaw that will impact one’s ability to do most jobs.

It’s baseline critical thinking which even the floor mopper at Wendy’s should have.

Yeah, my company, packed with scientists, had our mandate handed down in, I want to say July, with vaxx required by September 1. Don’t think there was much in the way of complaints. Most people I expect had already been fully vaxxed basically as soon as they could be.

About 95 percent of all full-time school employees have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, the mayor said, including 96 percent of teachers and 99 percent of principals.

More than 18,000 shots were given to staff members since Sept. 24, and 43,000 doses have been administered since the mandate was announced in late August.

“Mandates work, they make us safer,” Mr. de Blasio said in a television interview on Friday. “I would urge every mayor in America: Do it now, get those vaccine mandates in place ahead of the cold weather, when things are going to get tougher. Do it now, or you will regret it later.”

I’m kinda stunned at the moment, I just had an anti-Vax/Rogan listener come by my office to detail out his two week battle with COVID. Complete with ivermectin, chloroquine, breathing treatments, loss of taste and smell, absurd weakness that he’s still feeling, and passing it on to an elderly (but thankfully vaxxed) loved one.

He thinks the government is regularly releasing new strains to keep the pandemic going. Says he tested negative this morning. He’s going to keep taking ivermectin.

Is this person a customer? An employee? I don’t think I could resist asking him why the government would want to keep the pandemic going. And telling him he’ll at least be worm-free. Its getting progressively harder to stay patient with these morons.

Amazing what these morons come up with to avoid feeling insignificant.

Employee, but he mostly works outside. I don’t know any of the higher-ups or the support staff, but it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of them were also anti-Vax. Delta getting loose in the front office could devastate the company.

I can’t ask him why he thinks an entity is releasing different strains because I already know his answer and I don’t want to actually hear him say it.

Folks like to talk a big game. In WA State, there’s a ton of state employees talking about not getting the vaccine and leaving their job. It’s easy to talk about, it’s a lot more difficult when faced with the decision of giving up your cush state job for a private sector job where you’re going to get 3 days off a year and have no union representation.

I suspect that the amount of people that leave state employment in WA will be much less than what is currently projected. Everybody is just waiting to send in the vax information until the last minute because they are assholes and want to try to make it as difficult as possible on the state.

I know that guards at one of the prison’s is waiting until the last day to present their vax information with the belief that it will force the state to activate the national guard to fill in the holes and cost the state some money. But the agency is already in tune with their plans and has adjusted accordingly.

Well, Facebook is down. Which can only mean that somebody posted a video that was too close to the truth about covid and vaccines and they had to take down the entire site to deal with it. Or at least that’s what the morans will likely be posting about when it comes back up.

He’s from Saskatchewan, its not exactly a thriving urbane culture there.

To be clear, he moved to Minnesota as a teenager then went to college in Nebraska.
