Ohio case numbers starting to take off. I guess we couldn’t defy basic biology forever.
MA is on the way as well. They were below 100 on 7dma for a solid month (and around 50 for much of it) but now well over 10X that and climbing.
Been in line for COViD testing almost two hours now because my kid got contact traced at school. Also, my wife’s car won’t start. Fun Saturday.
The facebook group for Florida that was hunting vaccines has now changed to hunting covid tests.
Nice is an overrated and dull city.
A question for the medical professionals. My buddy’s dad, who is double vaccinated, has a breakthrough case. He said he’s sick, but not in dire straights. He wants to know if his dad should try getting the antibody treatment. Do any of y’all know if there is any benefit or risk for a vaccinated person to get that treatment?
It was worth 3 days but I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon. Rock beach woat
I only know of one vaccinated person who got the antibody treatment and it was suggested to them by a medical professional involved with their treatment. Is it being recommended by a medical professional in this case? I would say it should probably be somebody actually providing treatment and with specific knowledge of what’s going on for his circumstance that makes the call.
Edit: I’m not a medical professional
Yeah we didn’t even bother with the beach there. Further along to the West things improve a bit (Antibes is good), then dip horribly with Cannes and St Tropez isn’t much better… whole Riviera is surprisingly bad imo. Monaco is even worse lol.
First off, evidence for it is not great even for people who aren’t vaccinated.
Second, it doesn’t really make sense from a theoretical point of view as his body should already have huge amounts of antibodies available. Those are either working or not.
Not medical advice, but I tell my patients to keep a pulse oximeter at home and to check their oxygen levels regularly. Once they’re <94% they have to keep a close eye on it with a low threshold to come in. <92% they come in.
Thanks. We have them picking up the oximeter. One of the other people in our friend group had a really bad case and was almost admitted to the hospital, so she knows a lost of the routine.
i didn’t realize what these labels were created to mean or what they ended up meaning. and obvious bigotry is a problem since it becomes a cultural baseline. but i think it’s reasonable to ponder that “proud super straight” is possibly a signal to other men, rather than women.
Yeah thats not what Super straight is. Its just another term for Transphobe
This article ludicrously overstates the issue. Pulse ox error is real and more common in people with darker skin tones, but those issues are far smaller at normal oxygen levels. The errors are more exaggerated at 72 vs 85% or whatever, which doesn’t matter in this discussion.
I wonder what label bigots will come up with once the mainstream catches on with super straight.
Left the city for the first time in a year and a half. If everything goes to plan, tomorrow I’ll be sitting on a beach earning 20%.
Get me out of this God-forsaken hell hole
