My brother said today it seems society was breaking down as vaxxed vs unvaxxed. I said at least we have the virus on our side.
WE WONT LIVE IN FEAR!!! he shouts as he straps on his gun to make a Starbucks run
I think a big thing stopping it is the high vaccine hesitancy in the black community. Force vaccinating them after everything our government has done to them would be a pretty bad narrative
But they are already subject to other vaccine requirements? Forced vaccination doesnât mean going to knock door to door holding people down and jamming needles in them, it is requiring vaccination to participate in ~everything, including jobs and schools.
I often wonder of the winning play would be just to actually embrace the identity politics, like say that as a form is reparations we will give priority status to the black community and whites will just have to wait. Had that been done at the outset then conservatives would have been OUTRAGED and demand to be vaccinated.
I edited my post above, but it was just our elementary schoolâs 5th grade that got sent home. Thatâs still awful, but itâs not the entire school as I said earlier.
That never struck me as fear but rather sadistic greed: hoping for one day to have that opportunity to kill another person and get away with it.

So ya, what in the actual fuck is wrong with people?
Doc morale update: we have multiple unfilled shifts today, tomorrow and Friday for the first time ever. No one wants to work.
Why are all these kids in school right now on August 11? Do kids not get the summer off in the rest of the country anymore?
Mine start tmw, this time of year is pretty normal
Is anyone here actually participating in local school board type stuff? My co-workers report absolute madness at these things, people yelling and screaming at each other, total chaos.
I never went back until after Labor Day when I was a kid. Iâm actually kind of pissed off that they go back the Wednesday before Labor Day around here now â makes no sense to me. But early August seems nuts.
It sounds like condo board stuff, youâve got a handful of normal adults trying to get some paperwork done and basic decision making taken care of, and the fringe nutters who have nothing better to do are screaming at you. Fun.
Depends on the area of the country youâre in. I mean you have to remember these same kids probably got out shortly after Memorial Day too, not around the first day of summer like weâre used to.
My daughter goes back Sept 8. Seems crazy to start right before labor day. We always use Labor Day as the official end of school summer.
If I had to go to school until first day of summer I would have lost it.
My college always started one week before Labor Day and then a 3 day weekend. Always thought that was dumb af.
How do you even begin to deal with this?
