COVID-19: Chapter 8 - Ongoing source of viral information, and a little fun

That’s where Trump went wrong. He needed to “HEREBY SINCERELY DECLARE” for his edicts to be taken seriously.

I don’t understand this idea of the pandemic ending. COVID is going to be around forever.

This is what I thought for a a long time but it isn’t at all obvious considering how slowly it mutates and how persistent immunity seems to be.

COVID is going to be around forever but shouldn’t be a pandemic/global health emergency forever.

It’s an ongoing phenomenon.

Effing Facebook

“A germ theory denialist emailed me and pointed to a Facebook group called “Terrain Model Refutes Germ Theory,” where a particular strain of germ theory denialism is thriving. An administrator for the group noted in April that the group had reached 15,000 members, up from just 147 members in April 2020. Now, just a few months later, the membership tally is up to 18,400.“

They go over the weekend numbers and how Florida contested them.

My worst fear.

Bad kid cases stick with you forever. I still think about mine. This kind of shit can break a person.

These people are extra special. They think COVID symptoms are caused by radiation, viruses don’t exist, and germ theory just a lie told by big medicine.

Not surprisingly, in my experience, also like to talk about thermite a lot.

Update on my sister and nephew who both tested positive for COVID. Sister tested negative so she can go back to work. Nephew still remains asymptotic, but will have to miss school starting tomorrow. Also Governor mandated that anyone who steps inside a school has to wear a mask. Deplorables have been losing their shit today.

Update: Friend is spending tonight in the hospital with oxygen levels dipping down to 87%. I apparently was off by a week on my timeline and he pozzed Aug 2nd, so has been feeling strong symptoms for over a week. A different friend got his first shot scheduled.

Feeling a little fucked up atm.

“ Either prove you’ve been vaccinated or show proof that you’re unable to get one for a legitimate medical reason.

And no, your HIPAA rights don’t preclude such a rule. You don’t have to tell or show us shit. But we also don’t have to let you on Space Mountain, or in your dorm, or the Buffalo Wild Wings you dearly love. You do you — go ahead, seriously, because that’s all you’ll be doing.”

Dummy doesnt know it’s HIPPA, stupid libtard: :grimacing:

Choosing an airline in the US will prob be a political choice now, huh?

This a new one?

Tell that to measles! I do think there’s an endpoint to the current phase of the pandemic, but it comes when almost everyone who hasn’t gotten vaccinated has gotten COVID. Then we’ll have a permanent phase where the virus circulates by evading immunity at low levels and occasionally explodes when it finds some pocket of unvaccinated people.

I have a sick feeling that COVID is not going to be added to mandatory school vaccines too, so we’ll have pediatric outbreaks forever too. That’s obviously insane, but…

The measles pandemic ended? When you say the pandemic will be never-ending I assumed you meant it would be non-stop waves like the seasonal flu and more than a few sporadic outbreaks in the developed world.
