Iceland pretty well proves that vaccines actually cause COIVD and the Alex Jones crowd were right all along. Or else there’s just something goofy about the data.

Maybe Iceland is funky, but it sort of lines up with what happened in Provincetown.
Possible that what happens with a fully vaccinated population with this generation of vaccines/variants/some sort of waning immunity are just continuous waves of COVID in the medium to long term, but with way way way fewer bad outcomes than we had when COVID ran rampant through an unvaccinated/unexposed population.
Don’t have the numbers, but it’s going to be mostly mRNA. Pfizer was approved in December, Moderna in January, AZ not until February.
I assumed everyone understood this is the deal? Like the R0 of Delta is CDC estimated at between 5 and 9.5. Everyone having 60% protection against getting it doesn’t slow that down much. You’d also need a big reduction in how easily vaccinated people transmit it to others, and so far indications are that transmission from infected vaccinated people is less, but not radically less.
Everyone getting vaccinated against Delta, at least with current generation vaccines, transforms Delta into something that really is kind of like seasonal flu, but with a different distribution of disease severity. Comparable numbers of hospitalizations and deaths, but not as many people feeling terrible. 97% of the confirmed covid cases in Iceland right now report mild or no symptoms.

I know a decent amount of unvaccinated people. One of which was in close contact with multiple people that just tested positive for covid. He isn’t feeling great but still decided to ride cross country to Sturgis. I said are you going to get tested? His reply was hahah why? It’s just a cold. There are a lot of people like this out there. A lot….
