COVID-19: Chapter 8 - Ongoing source of viral information, and a little fun

Not sure what you’re trying to get at but UK always been OFS. UK schoolkids are the best tested people in the country, perhaps the world - imagine that.

UK had schools open into July AFAIK. Part of the speculation around why cases went down was a combination of end of EURO soccer/end of term.

Well, the optimistic case is we are going to seroconvert fast, just in a dumb way that kills off hundreds of thousands.

The pessimistic case is that we are working to breed the wrong kind of variant from this transmission and as a result will eventually need to reorganize society around eliminating sharing indoor air, large crowds, and travel or give up a century worth of life expectancy.

Time will tell. Possible Earth should root for the latter tbh

Agreed. I’d previously been on a crusade to sully the reputation of that one-trick, overrated Sacred Cow. And that was before he revealed this stupidity.

In a lot of ways it is going to be worse when he is elected president then it was when Trump won.

Desantis has to be approaching 5 figure Sklansky deaths at this point.

Can you imagine the facebook if / when this becomes a reality in the US?

New data from Public Health England shows 55% of those in hospital with Covid are unvaccinated

The most recent data, collected since 19 July, shows 55.1% (808) of the 1,467 people in hospital in England with the Delta variant - as evidenced by sequencing - have not had the vaccination.

By contrast, 512 (34.9%) of those hospital patients have received both doses of the vaccine.

More vaxxed in the UK than unvaxxed, leading to the weird numbers. But deaths rare!

In further weirdness, was in Fairport a half hour ago. An unstuck hot spot.

Dude is still like a strong favorite to be the next president. What a world.

Thanks. It does feel a lot like many of my 24-48 hour bugs/colds of the past. Hopefully nothing more than that.

If we’re gonna talk about Skalnsky deaths, how many lives could Trump have saved just by telling his cult to get themselves vaccinated?

The “delta plus” variant has hit the Czech Republic. No one seems to be worried. So I’m not.

97% of new cases here are of the regular delta version. Despite that, there are no surges here.

Seems that life is gonna be a series of covid mutation spikes for those of us who continue to survive.

Vax rate?

Yes until enough of the population has sufficient immunity.

Trump is absolutely going to turn on Desantis. There have been hints already. Trump humiliating awful people is like the one good thing he does. Jeff Sessions lolololol gg.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced new moves Monday to fight the coronavirus pandemic as it rages again in Texas, including asking hospitals to again put off certain elective procedures to free up space for COVID-19 patients.

Still, the governor’s announcement did not back down on his refusal to institute any new statewide restrictions on businesses or to let local governments and schools mandate masks or vaccines.

Freeeedooommm!!! (to have your procedure delayed again)
