My wife’s friends from college (a married couple) drove from Chicago to Yellowstone for a vacation. The wife started feeling poorly on the way home in SDakota.
She had JnJ and has tested positive with moderate cold symptoms. He had Moderna and is negative. They told her to quarantine for a week which sucks because his Dad is in the hospital (non Covid).
Also my wife’s “step-brother” (her dad’s girlfriend’s son) was a Pfizer test subject. He got the placebo the first time (then got the actual shots). He recently got a test 3rd shot. Pretty sure he got the actual booster because he had strong side effects.
Bottom line-if you have the JnJ I would get an mRNA dose even if you have to fib to get it. There seems to be no local shortages. Anecdotal obviously, but I’d guess within a month the CDC guidance will change. Lol WHO thinking the lolUSA#1 is going to share before making 3rd doses available here.

50% of nurses leave the bedside within 2 years of graduation. It would probably be wise to pay them something approximating the value they generate for the businesses (and they are fucking businesses) they work for. Doctors get paid what they get paid because they are the bottleneck that determines how much care a healthcare facility can provide patients. Time for nurses to get paid the same way until the industry can figure out how to keep half of them from quitting right out of school.
Sorry I’m an econ guy and my wife is a nurse. The more you look into the state of nursing on a statistical level the more horrifying it gets.

My mother and sisters are going to a country club to celebrate my uncle’s 60th birthday.
Seems like a super-spreader paradise. With the exception of one, my family members there are either vaccinated or have had covid but there’ll be plenty of unknown deplorables there.
From a friend to our group chat. I believe he had Pfizer. Of course the one guy of the four of us who didn’t get vaccinated and is currently on a cross country road trip probably won’t get it, further solidifying his anti-vax beliefs.
