Antibiotics for a largely unknown virus that has killed millions during a pandemic is malpractice imo
I know itâs hard to ask questions when youâre that sick, but you have to at least try when thatâs the treatment.
I think the inverse is more likely to be the case. The sick person is just begging the walk in doc to prescribe something so they default to z-pack, because maybe they also have a bacterial infection and this will shut them up? I donât know. Itâs really dumb.

Itâs hard to say for sure, especially with Delta, but there are reasons to think that teachers are a bigger transmission risk than kids. Theyâre more likely to get symptomatic cases. When kids are indoors, itâs usually the teacher doing most of the talking and aerosol-generating. Teachers have more social contacts outside the school community than kids. Maybe theyâre more likely to obey mask rules, which could counteract that to some extent.

I donât think azithromycin is even the proper antibiotic if you suspect some kind of bacterial pneumonia or are trying to ward it off. Also, if you were worried enough that you felt the patient needed an anti-inflammatory medication, wouldnât you just prescribe a steroid?⌠Paging @CaffeineNeeded
There are definitely bacterial pneumonias that azithromycin will treat.

Why would I be furious? I want the government to do mask mandates and vaccine passports. They wonât have the will to do so unless the numbers get higher. Iâll do my part to increase those numbers so we build the political will to be stricter, hopefully during a wave of the current variant before a worse one comes along. More people dying in the short-run can help save more lives in the long-run.

south puget sound 911 dispatch hit with an outbreak. this stage of the pandemic is starting to make me judgmental about some occupations/communities that are just letting themselves get this bad. i feel like there may have been an episode of ST TNG or firefly about this
EhâŚ. Technically but only very technically. Azithro is used so much for random bullshit itâs not a good choice really. I donât use it it anymore.
Azithro does nothing for covid (not meant for you there was further talk upstream)
