While it’s infuriating that a third of the country logs on to Facebook and injects this bullshit into their temples, I try to remind myself that for like 1200 years the church did it to the entire fucking population.
Who knew giving people access to infinity information for close to free would make things worse, by far. I’m sure smart people predicted it, but boy does it suck.
The vaccine hasn’t even existed long enough to determine if it has any effect on fertility.
Unless there is a plausible mechanism that someone has come up with or they were doing something like testing sperm counts in clinical trial volunteers, there is absolutely no reason to believe this. It’s garbage.
Edit: So after reading that NYT article, it seems like some one came up with a proposed mechanism, but it was not plausible.
I didn’t say it was impossible. I said that it would essentially be impossible to determine that particular side effect this quickly unless someone was specifically looking for it (and it was a massive effect).
I found out yesterday that my sister, a pharmacist in a hospital, turned down the vaccine. The only pharmacist at her hospital to do so. JFC. I haven’t talked to her about it, but my mom says she wants to wait and see what kind of side effects the others have after their second dose.
Meanwhile my aunt and her family are holding a pozz party with my 80+ year old mega high risk grandparents.
He’s been the head of the NIAID since the 1980s, which you might be able to pull from knowing that activists had problems with at the start of the AIDS epidemic, so if you assume he had to be 40-something to get that job in the first place, the math says that he has to be up there.
Its actually worse than this, it’s infinity misinformation PLUS a ruthless mechanism to precisely calibrate which manipulative information has the best traction for your profile PLUS a delivery system built on forming addictive patterns of behavior.
We successfully steer family members to donate money or gifts instead of giving us stuff. By all means send us a card, its a nice gesture, but my wife and I are both employed professionals and we definitely don’t need another sweater as badly as many families need, like, food.
Sadly for us it’s Merry FMas 2020. Big rain storm with wind, lost power a little before midnight. My generator crapped out when trying to start last night. Backup sump pump did the job overnight and we were fine wo heat.
Went back at it this morning and the crank cord broke in my hand.
Did some calling around and got one borrowed from my old boss. We have heat fridge and freezer back online. Cooking on grill. We have hot water.
In past experience, once these things go a day they will likely last 3-4 days.
Wind snapped the metal flag pole at the historical society house my wife runs. Had to be a pretty serious gust to do that.
Anyhow merry Christmas and all the other holidays to UP and the covid threaders.
