COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

We saw this a few days ago but worth repeating: W.T.F.

Awful lot of schools still planning to play football high up on this list. Looking at you ‘Bama.

I think this is the closest thing to a coordinated ‘end testing’ strategy as we’re going to get from this administration. Nearly 20 percent down (is that right?) in testing in a few short weeks seems bad to me.

I cannot quantify my rage

Does this mean schools and essential workers are no longer going to have people test and quarantine if they come into contact with a positive? If so that’s insane

It’s exactly what it means. Any health care provider that goes along with this is derelict at a minimum.

All hat, no cattle, no horse.

I was thinking the bottom of the plastic could tuck into the neck of your shirt and filter that way. I don’t think the pc fan running through the filter will create enough pressure to spew much of anything, I was more worried about it moving enough air to breathe properly.

Yeah, I don’t think the filter I linked cuts the mustard. By the time I power enough fans to move enough air through proper filters I’ll end up with 50lbs of headgear. Was a passing idea I think I’ll drop.

Well apparently the CoTrumption has set in.

The CDC hasn’t been impartial on this since pretty close to the beginning of the pandemic and they’ve been changing every guideline based on what the administration wants over and over saying they aren’t. This isn’t subtle and has totally undermined the credibility of the CDC to an extremely dangerous level.

CDC fucked up on the IFR estimate which was a sign things were off. This, however, is beyond the pale. You can do bad stats and come up with a poor IFR estimate. You cannot argue that we shouldn’t be testing people to prevent the spread of a virus.

I just f***ing can’t…

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/dont-argue-with-anti-maskers-cdc-warns-stores/ar-BB18mCM8?li=BBnb7Kz

that’s actually reasonable. Not arguing with someone threatening you or attacking you is correct.

While true, it’s a step toward, ‘don’t worry about it if people don’t wear masks’ which will lead to many more people not wearing masks. Which will lead to you know what…

Unless I’m misreading something, that’s not what the cdc says at all.

The CDC is only recommending backing down if the dipshit is threatening or violent.

I’m not talking about the article or the actual recommendations, I’m talking about how the headline is presented. Most people won’t read the article they’ll just see, ‘cool, CDC says no one’s going to fight me on my mask usage’.

This is just disgusting and it’s manslaughter.

He had the guidelines changed because before if a worker gets covid, people in their area have to get tested and quarantined, hurting the business.

Now the business can say “come to work unless you have symptoms” and they are following CDC guidelines so likely won’t be held liable much.

Same for schools…no need to quarantine a classroom when someone gets it…only those with symptoms need to stay home while the rest can keep going to school to spread to others.

I’m beyond pissed

Why is the CDC giving that guidance? That’s not medical guidance, it’s law enforcement guidance.
