COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Even then you can still taste it. Wonder how many gallons of that rubberized poison water ive drank.

I don’t know that’s going to get rid of much of the gunk that’s accumulated in the pipe. I’m sure it’s delicious though.

Wondering why humans prefer swimming in flowing rivers to silted up ponds where the risk of drowning is so much less.

That’s the taste of freedom.

We used to go on canoe trips multiple times a summer in MO/AR. My stepdad always told me the river water was safe to drink because it came from a spring. So I did.

Lol at a giant fast moving river all 100% spring fed.

Yeah that’s funny. How did the river water taste compared to your hosepipe? A bit bland maybe?

Delicious and cold. Just like spring water.

Summary?

the virus mutated since it emerged in china to a more infectious version. people who recovered could potentially get it again as it continues to mutate and vaccine development would probably be complicated

Do they know that one amino acid mutation between D614 and G614 (or w/e) is enough to make vaccines for one ineffective against the other?

Some antibodies against SARS-CoV-1 Spike mediate antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) of infection in vitro and exacerbate disease in animal models (Jaume et al., 2011; Wan et al., 2020; Wang et al., 2014; Yip et al., 2016).

not good

I have no idea what that means.

Yesterday morning I got a call from a friend whose mother died suddenly over night. She was a wreck, and I helped her get packed and get to the airport to fly home to be with her dad. About midway through the morning I got to witness her reaction when she realized they weren’t going to be able to have a funeral or memorial service for her mom because of COVID. It was terrible.

was it Rona related? This made me go check on moms again even though she was doing fine last night.

I won’t really be bothered about a funeral if she passes. I’d much prefer to just go visit her grave alone anyways. Not a funeral person.

Also I’m scheduled for a test Sunday.

No, completely unrelated. The mom had some sort of colitis issue that had been causing some issues and on top of that she was having trouble keeping any food down, so there were some complications and she had to go to the ER in the middle of the night went septic and had heart failure. Literally the being before id been talking with the friend who sensed that her mom’s condition had turned for the worse but was worried about visiting her, I’d convinced her that she should go, and then that happed a few hours later. Just fucking devastating.

My friend is in Seattle right now basically waiting for his Dad to die from a long battle cancer. I have no idea if they’re going to try to have a funeral.

Because everyone knows that the centres for responsible behaviour are pubs…

(British boozers reopening tomorrow; USA infection rates to follow)

There is no policy requiring, or even asking them to do so (they can if they want). The reality is that virtually no-one in the UK (or England at least) seems to be wearing a mask outside of public transport, where they’re mandatory. Outside of Scotland places like supermarkets don’t have a mask requirement and nobody in a position of authority has stringently called for their use or consistently advocated for their efficacy.

Sadly, they just aren’t a thing here.
