COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Apparently someone faked pharmacy technician credentials in order steal narcotics from from the hospital I work at. Can’t remember if she got away with it or if they caught her.

I guess finger guns are another victim of our PC culture.

Wawa sandwiches are heaps better than basically every chain sandwich place as well as most average sandwich shops outside the Northeast.

Well yes.

At that rate they could get the covid death count down to zero - “He was going to die anyway!”.

Good to see testing capacity is ramped up. Can isolate positive folks and treat the positive symptomatic folks.

Finger guns have always been appropriate. Aliens consider it the universal language.

He’s technically only a boomer if he turns 56 before 12/31/20.

Yes, because Jair Bolsonaro is a great advocate of finger guns.

Seems odd to be selling shares when you are about to cure Covid-19…

I’ve sold some employee stock options when I was pretty sure better things were coming, just to take some profits because you never know. $30mm probably isn’t a large percent of the total execs holdings. I might look at this as an athlete taking a smaller deal a few years prior to becoming a free agent just to de-risk. Nobody thinks this vaccine is a guarantee to prevail.

It’s also possible they are engaged in a pump-in-dump, sure.

Can someone check in on All Good Nod Guy? He looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks.

This is bad. Postal service already in crisis mode due to less employees and massive increase in packages.

Facilities start getting shut down and major problems could occur as pretty much everything that is shipped depends on the USPS for a significant portion of deliveries including Amazon, FedEx, and UPS.

Of course with everything opening who needs packages! Not going to lie, in theory I love the concept of the USPS crushing the economy just to put it in the face of those bent on destroying it. But I would find little satisfaction as I am sure they would say “if it were privatized this would never happen.”

I feel like I saw that episode of House and Dr. Cuddy was none too nice to them when she found out.

Counterpoint:

Supposedly those were automatically executed based on the stock hitting certain prices.

Since the fastest vaccine was done in four years, that doesn’t say much. If they deliver in three years it is still going to be really bad. (Unless trump loses in November and maybe the US can have an adult run management response to the virus until we find a vaccine).

I think this supports my post that execs selling isn’t necessarily bad news?

Unemployment is at 20-25%, and the CARES Act runs out in July, right? Seems like there will be plenty of unemployed young people willing to take their chances with the USPS or stepping into other essential jobs. Mitch is probably more open to high quality paid leave for essential workers who test positive and are hospitalized than he is to expanding any other benefits.

I misread it and am a moron. You are right.

I would bet a lot we don’t have a widely available (100m doses) vaccine available by December though tbh.

Man fuck this virus and fuck Trump. Just found out an old buddy of mine (haven’t seen him in 10 years) has been on a ventilator for past 6 weeks. Apparently he’s in really bad shape.
