COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

I don’t get that 100,000 dead is “not so bad”… these people were previously saying that corona is overrated cause 25,000 die of the flu. We quadrupled that in a few months.

Wasn’t that in reference to the extra $600/wk of UI? The people making like 10% more on UI than they were while working really irks the GOP, it’s such a trigger. We all know why… But I think they’ll be forced to pass something they’ll just make sure it’s like 2 to 1 corporate handouts to help for poor folks.

Tough to watch this and the other similar videos and not feel anything other than complete repulsion at these creatures.

+1.

If I had the option to go to Canada, I’d be gone. Surprised you’re still here.

A lot of them are going to die. Alot alot. If one good thing comes of this it might be many of them getting shaken up badly and actually questioning their programming.

The impairment rate in people over 50 with comorbidities is going to be high. The IFR is going to be really high when the hospitals get overrun. This thing is a huge preventable tragedy, but I’m starting to realize that death cults inevitably end in death.

I just hope it’s enough.

paging narrator…

Sometimes I feel like while there’s lots of good people out there the human species as a whole shouldn’t be allowed to continue

Dude this thing is really obviously just beginning. Lets page the narrator in September. Near death experiences shake people up. Either I’m right or they’re right. They aren’t the first human group in history to be impossible to rout. They’re a bunch of babies who’ve never not gotten what they wanted. This is going to be a very bad experience for them.

I fear you underestimate the power of the cognitive dissonance. But sure, we’ll check in with the narrator in Sept.

I’ve been through massive cognitive dissonance personally multiple times. It’s not something people face voluntarily I’ll grant you that. That being said I strongly suspect that these people are about to get traumatized pretty seriously.

And the number that come back hugely disillusioned is also high.

Was there some sort of provision in the bill that prevented legislatures in red states from capping UI at previous income minus $600 so that no one makes more than they were while working once the $600 is added? They could even claim that they were doing it to preserve state funds so that they could afford to pay benefits for longer. What would be the fallout if they tried?

They will do whatever they need to keep Trump in office. It’s not gonna be to help Americans pay bills or anything noble. It’s about staying in power.

There’s a lot of racism in healthcare too. A lot of idiot republicans will die, but when the hospitals in their communities are overrun they will get airlifted to cities to get an icu bed while poor minorities die in the hallways of emergency rooms.

man this is going to be a veryyyy long year for this country. I was thinking about leaving back home in 10 years or so but with things going how they are I might do that really soon

My first thought was “I would never want to be there even prepandemic. All those people. Looks purely miserable.”

Right now it is just total collective insanity or a picture taken a year ago.

Obviously just a telephoto lens.

I think you might be right in reference to his specific quote, but I took it in the general sense of “there’s no way I’m voting to give those lazy poors any more handouts, period.” I hope I’m wrong.
