That’s clear.
Vaccine side-effects are largely the result of a provoked immune response, so a stronger immune system means a stronger reaction. This partly explains why younger adults have more side-effects than older adults, for example. (I think, anyway).
Or maybe my immune system is just a dumbass and is overreacting to a non-threat. Who knows.
It took 4 years, but I just tested positive for the first time.
I don’t even feel bad; I went for a 2 mile run about 2 hours ago. Only took the test because I was a little tired and we were supposed to go out to a nice restaurant for my wife’s and I’s birthdays.
Happy birthday!
Today is Day 10 since symptoms for me.
Been feeling mostly okay, but still testing positive on rapid tests.
10 days. Holy crap it likes to hang around.
I’m at 16 days right now and I still have this shit: Postinfectious cough - Wikipedia
The actual “I’m sick” part lasted like 3 days but this cough is lingering like a mofo.
I feel for you. I’m prone to that cough. Every time I get a cold or flu that is in my chest I cross my fingers that the cough doesn’t linger. If it does, it can go on for a couple of months. I get puffers from the doctor that help with the breathing but they don’t do much to eliminate the cough. Just have to ride it out until it decides to release me from the torment.
That’s what happened for me. I was only actually sick for like 12 hours, completely fine for the next couple of days, then had a cough develop which lasted weeks.
Day 0 - I felt a little bad, but nothing horrible
Day 1 - Thought I was fine, went on 2 mile run, 2 hours later pozzed
Day 2/3 - A little fever, nose running, mild cough, slept like shit
Day 4-6 - Still mild cough/congestion, mild shortness of breath, no more fever, sleeping fine
Day 7-10 (where I am now) - Shortness of breath when I try to do things, but otherwise fine, no coughing, congestion pretty much gone, really sick of mostly camping out in the guest bedroom
Day 13 - Supposed to travel to New Jersey to see in-laws, but starting to look doubtful that’s going to happen
Day 2-3 was pretty bad for me this time. Lots of fever dreams. One night the fever broke and it was like someone dumped an entire bucket of water on my side of the bed.
As it has always been, it’s just lord of the flies do whatever you want vis a vis covid. Just know that literally everyone is walking around unmasked pozzed to the gills, and nobody even isolates beyond 5 days anymore, test or no test (nobody even takes tests). So, if you’re willing to engage with the public in any fashion, you’re going to be less risky to folks than a trip to the mall or going out to dinner. Again, IMO. Certainly absolutely nothing wrong about being at the highest standard deviation of caution.
Understandable points, but there’s no way my wife is going to be in a car with me for 400 miles if I’m still pozzing. Can’t really blame her; I’d be uneasy if the roles were reversed.
yep fully defensible and reasonable. Any chance those T lines are getting fainter? I definitely could see them abating day over day once I hit about the 10 day mark.
My Day 8 test line was bold and bright. No evidence of fainting at all.
Going to take another test tonight (Day 10).
SOON ™
Welp, still positive.
Line is maybe more faint. Got about 24 hours to get rid of this, or Christmas trip is fucked. I’m not hopeful.
Are you sure the brightness of the line has any correlation to infection level? I’ve never heard this.
According to the guidance you’re not contagious. I would go.
