I thought in US calls re breathing / resuscitation are attended by the fire service (e.g. Washington State Fire attended the nursing homes there)

I think paramedics, who tend to work for the fire department, would respond and take them to the hospital.
Gotcha. Paramedics must be busy. All the olds dying in homes across Europe but US getting them to the hospitals, still. Not saying youâre wrong but the hospitals might not be the savior
I think in NYC they changed protocol to not take dead people to the hospital.
There are two options
Option a) deaths lag infections because of course they do. This is a good sign
Option b) we are up against our testing cap but if you are dying or dead you have a better chance of getting a test.
Time will tell which it is. If we see deaths decline in 4-5 days we will know it is A, if not well then the sky is the limit.

McDonaldâs sales fell less than 4% in the first three months of the year, despite closures due to lockdown measures prompted by the coronavirus.
The fast-food chain took a big hit to its international business in March, when it shut outlets in the UK, France, Italy and Spain.
But 99% of its locations in the US remain open. Sales there fell just 13%.
