I was thinking 5-7 days before actual lockdown in CA but the Ohio news makes me feel like it’ll be sooner. Was planning a no-holds-barred Costco trip on Tuesday but might do it tomorrow instead.

Never had it either, but I had Marmite when I was in highschool and it scarred my tastebuds for several years. I have no desire to try Vegemite.
Spoke to my deplorable stepmom yesterday and got the same “flush it down and your stomach acid kills it “ advice. Didn’t try to refute it.

Let us be fair though, if it gets this people to drink more water, that is likely a good thing, unless they quit drinking water when they get sick because “it did not work.”
Got to convince them drinking water makes corona last a shorter duration.
Boomers all getting sick because they refuse to take this seriously, while millennials get stuck in their apartments for a year even though they’re at no risk, should really help with the ongoing millennial vs. boomer feud.

No but something similar. Maybe it wasn’t even big enough to be noticed though - since nobody freaks out about old or people who are already sick dying. And obviously I’m just massively spitballing as to why Japan so far doesn’t seem to be hit very hard.
Maybe it’s all just social distancing, plus cleanliness, plus they listing to their fucking government (I can say from first hand experience that Italians do not like their govt telling them what to do).

Vermont schools ordered to be closed no later than Wednesday. Date they would reopen is TBD, but no earlier than April 6.
Next shoe to drop is going to be the mass layoffs in the US. I’m an employment lawyer and a ton of companies are ramping up layoff plans. Good thing we have a strong safety net in place.
