Pretty sure you are not disagreeing with me here, but to be sure this is a clear example of a skewed distribution. Which is to say non-normal but extremely typical.

It is an interesting distribution though and looks like adding a few different normal curves together. Like, men and women for one and then maybe a subset of people who kinda let their weight go maybe.
Getting into waters I don’t quite understand, but I guess I am trying to push back against the very notion that these are meaningfully random variables! Height is a very good example of a variable whose distribution not normal either, never has been and never will be. And it is that way very much because it is complicated! I don’t at all understand the advantage of pretending like there is some underling fundamental gaussian distribution of these characteristics. I genuinely want to know why this is so.
I guess I sort of figured intelligence was more or less evenly distributed because I know a few very smart and a bunch of very dumb people. And I think most people are at least a bit dumber than me, because I’m a special smart boy, my mom told me as much.

Just generally, if something is complicated you might try answering a simpler question and maybe it helps you understand even if it’s different. I guess Gaussian distributions are the spherical cows of statistics.

Since the sample isn’t identified, I’ll assume it represents “Americans.” I’d consider this a normal distribution with both floor effects and a tail for gluttony.
the gluttony tail makes it log-normal. The median weight may be 140, but it’s possible to eat yourself to 500lbs, but not possible to under eat to -360. A physical bound on one side with a tail to the other is pretty common and those are log-normal.

As stated above, by its very definition, IQ is normal distribution. It’s how the damn scores are even calculated.
