College Football 2024: Hail to THE Buckeyes

I mean, that’s basically what I say every season.

Maybe Trump will make the Army/Navy/AF do exhibition games.

Air Force, Army, Navy and teams recruited from the cadet corps of Texas A&M and Virginia Tech (current football players have option to join the cadet corps). 10 game round robin, 1 championship game… over 12 weeks.

Make it part of a legitimate training exercise (outside of football, like logistics of setting up field hospitals during a pandemic). Non-sports military docs make the cancel call.

I hope SEC plays and everyone boycotts. If one of you mfers watch an SEC only season I swear! :sparkles:

If Bama games are on, I’m watching

However, they aren’t playing…that’s been written in stone since the first “open for business” and “liberate Michigan” tweets in April

I mean, college football is exploitation and LOL to anyone that still watches it.

What if you only watch DIII college football?

Big South and Big East postponed all Fall sports today. This pushes D1 over the 50% threshold for schools postponing which means no NCAA championships.

FBS is the one interesting spot as only 52 of 130 FBS teams are out for the Fall so far.

As long expected, New Mexico State pulls the plug. Also, the Marshall @ East Carolina game has been at least postponed, clearing “Week Zero” (Aug 29) of games.

OTOH, the remaining teams: the Power Three (39 teams), Group of Three (34) and the remaining independents (3), are all saying they’ll play… and there’s a mini-flourish of out-of-conference games being announced. Currently the first scheduled game is South Alabama @ Southern Miss, Thursday September 3rd (5 pm pdt on EPSN)… three weeks from today.

lol big 12

Head of NCAA Mark Emerett shrugged his shoulders and said “We can’t do anything about schools playing football.”

My favorite quote though:

Authoritarianism is a really fun concept, it just sucks when people actually have to live under it.
