I’m fine with it as well. I knew when Clemson kicked that FG that Bama was out.

It also knew before the season that the OU game would be trouble, especially since it was the week before Auburn. OU just seems to have Bama’s number.

Excellent read here

I didn’t think CFB could get any dumber but here we are.

Lool no it won’t

Every single Bama and UM player who is entering the draft (or the portal) will sit out and it will be unwatchable.

I was briefly excited about the possibility of seeing Bama in Tampa until i realized the above.

Louisville is considerably better than Penn State’s best win.

Texas gifted a yellow brick road to the title game eta where they will lose to UGA a third time

The Bowl Era is dying. It may already be dead. And I honestly can’t blame the players…most of the possible outcomes are observably bad.

I think the only way to save the lesser bowls is to make them all part of the “playoffs” which means ever-expanding brackets til we get what we have with hoops. That would never happen though.

Here’s one way to justify it

They went 11-1 in a real conference and lost two games by a total of 6 points and both were to top 20 teams

Yall lose to vandy and got pantsed at home by a bad Oklahoma team

OU game was in Norman but you are otherwise correct

UGA has by far the easiest road, the hardest team they could face before title game is PSU or ND, i think they could struggle with ND i’d be shocked to see both of those teams make it to a rematch but i would be betting on texas if they did.

yeah non-CFP bowls mean even less than they did earlier, which means basically 0

They should just be straight-up paying the players in these bowl games. Sure, $50K might not keep a big star from sitting out for the NFL draft, but it would probably motivate a lot of the portal guys. Also don’t open the portal until after the games.

anyway, pretty obvious that the SEC will not be moving to a 9-game conference schedule now

Dabo won his conference with 0 portal players so I reckon the jokes on us

The “don’t punish a team for playing in the conference championship game” is dumb if it’s taken to an extreme.

There can be two marginal teams in the pre-championship rankings who are understood to be playing for a slot in the playoffs. It’s not that big of a deal. And creates free rolls if you don’t punish the loser.

CG losers did get punished, they just didn’t get punished as much as people thought they would. SMU was ahead of Indiana in the rankings before the game.

As predicted by me months ago. You win 11 games you are in (power 4)

The committee is always sort by ranking (except FSU)

The sec teams should be playing 3 trash level schools every year.

You wouldn’t be punishing them in this scenario unless they were both in prior to the game
