College Football 2024: Hail to THE Buckeyes

Oregon and Washington make a ton of sense.

Arizona and ASU kind of do too, but not as much

Figure if they get Stanford ND comes

The Big Ten (in vigesimal)

Oregon Washington Stanford and ND make the most sense

ASU/au can lump in with the remaining big 12

Are there any state laws about WSU or OSU needing to be in the same conference as UW or UO? I donā€™t know anything really, but it seems like a thing that could exist.

Nvm

The first guy is a Twitter nobody. Latter is more of a big deal but things change obv

This is all so stupid.

Honestly for the good of the kids and the spirit of the competition, we just need to separate football/basketball from everything else.

Imagine being a UCLA softball or soccer player and playing 20+ games a year a 4-hour flight away.

I read something on the Athletic a couple years ago that said the average travel budget per year for a West Virginia Womenā€™s Soccer player was $25k per year. Imagine an institution paying $25k per year for student for any other activity that produced zero revenue for the school.

Mens soccer wouldnā€™t be bad itā€™d be 4 or 5 games per year in the Midwest or east coast. (Only 9 big ten mens soccer teams)

But yeah thereā€™s an upcoming separation for sure imo

no, only thing Iā€™m aware of is Iowa who forces Iowa and Iowa State to play each other might be more though idk

I donā€™t know of any rules about Oregon or OSU having to give Portland State a guarantee game every however many years (although they fairly frequently do). If that rule doesnā€™t exist Iā€™d guarantee thereā€™s nothing about Oregon and OSU playing (unless itā€™s like a hundred years old).

actually Iā€™m wrong, this is a myth (a commonly held one)

it has gone to the courts who ruled them to play it but itā€™s not in the legislation so probably absolutely nothing anywhere

itā€™s still going to happen through 2025 after that who knows

Yeah ok. Give me big ten west. Just all the good pac 12 teams and Iowa state

big thousand west
USC UCLA Oregon Washington Utah Colorado Nebraska Stanford

wouldnā€™t be the worst I guess I doubt they ever bother with Iowa State

ND to the B1G should be the next domino.

Even better we could have a west coast conference featuring the two primary universities from each state or region and they can all play each other each year resulting in each team having a distinct historical narrative and both bitter and friendly rivalries with decades of traditions. The ultimate goal each season could be to get the chance to play in one of the most renowned events in all of American sports in itā€™s most scenic location.

I FUCKING HATE THIS SO MUCH

Itā€™s the SEC fault. Everyone else is playing survive or die

Iā€™m glad my conference is going to be one of the ones left standing.
