There has been local talk that BYU could lose national accreditation. I think NCAA membership technically requires this but I assume they will find a way to handwave away any issues that threaten football.
For what reason?
Iâm not sure of the details. Thereâs been a lot of Twitter chatter the last couple of weeks involving tolerance of LGBTQ students on campus. A prominent church leader made a speech talking about âmusket fireâ against them and being open to giving up accreditation. (Accreditation organizations would take a dim view of excluding marginalized groups from the student body.) Not sure how likely official BYU policy changes are. Also not clear it would matter to football.

I donât know really anything about Helton as a person but he never seemed to be enough of a dick to be HC at USC.

2017 wasnât that overrated. Started #4, finished #8, won the Pac. But, like, USC is the sort of program that should be legit contenders for the conference every year. Oregon ainât Bama.

They always have the most talent. Theyâre still always among the favorites to win the conference. They still put on a show of confidence. But the second-tier teams arenât afraid to play them. Itâs been 8 years but I still enjoy thinking about Kiffin getting shown the door after the ASU loss.

USCw is Notre Dame basically, living in yesteryear.
Oregon should actually be better than it is and that OSU win shouldnât be considered a fluke. With the booster support theyâve enjoyed the past 10+ year frankly they should have done a lot more already. Their fan base should be as demanding as SCâs and NDâs by now.
