I would wager that a new SuperEC would argue to change the rules about the CFP, that the national championship is their conference championship, and they’ll either not let anyone else in or only let in some rando like Oregon from a nothing conference if they go undefeated and meet some other conditionals. I think it’s reasonably likely that they adopt rules that no school schedules out of conference games in this scenario.
SuperSEC would become a de facto minor league for the NFL, which would be self-reinforcing as all the best high school prospects end up at SEC schools (where, no doubt, they’ll be loaded with sponsorships). The value there is much more than just winning national championships. It’ll become a two-tier system, maybe a three tier system if you consider FCS.
- A 20ish-team SEC, providing players with a clear road to the NFL and with the SEC champ recognized as the best team in the country, “playoffs” be damned
- An 80ish-team FBS, with the remaining schools fighting for bowl games and shit (maybe we’ll get some SEC vs X bowl games to show how much better SEC teams are)
- FCS, as currently exists. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some FBS schools drop down to FCS or some sort of merger between the two, or maybe it all blows up idk
FCS = Rookie ball
FBS = High A
SEC = Class AA
NFC East = Class AAA
Swap SEC and NFC East
I like it as is since AAA is where all of the busts who can’t stay in the show go and AA is the pool of entirely prospects.
Give this man the old Lou Holtz job. Have him debate Mark May, guaranteed gold.

Roped and branded, I’d say.
Gotta break out a classic for that one:
Because people weren’t laughing hard enough at Nebraska in the last decade.
My God those are hideous
I’m more curious as to when Frisch’s Big Boy became the Nebraska mascot.
unfortunately they’re fake
I remember when Nebraska joined the B1G and quickly found out what it was like to play in a real D1 conference.
Wat.
Over the last 10 years, the B12 has been the tougher conference in 8 of the years, often by a lot, and they were roughly equal in 2 years.
Also Nebraska won exactly the same amount of games in their first 5 seasons after joining the BUG as they had in the previous 5 (also tougher conf. play in the B12).
imagine how bad nebraska would be if they didn’t cheat
the analyst stuff is whatever everyone does that now but the covid cheating is shitty.
