Not to say that he shouldn’t be fired asap.
But I will point out that Hayes punched a student, not a peer, and it wasn’t like there was even a fight/argument -he literally attacked him for having the audacity to intercept a pass. Honestly, it wasn’t really a punch, if you watch the video he was actually trying to choke him. Anyway, no point here really, just reminiscing about one of the all time great sports moments.
Howard isn’t getting fired, nor did he punch the assistant coach who put his hands on two michigan players.
He might not, but 100% should. Lol at sticking up for a coach striking an opponent just because he’s your guy.

Of the top of my head… lake hit someone and got fired but not for cause but because he sucked.
Like I get that it’s bad meb but this is pearl clutching. Few did something far more dangerous this year. Izzo took in a rapist in his basement. I’ve been a part of more serious scuffles in youth soccer.
Getting mad about a coach calling timeout is dumb but it’s different to call a timeout to let walkons play (which is what that was) versus the Wisconsin timeout. Pressing was also dumb.
We both know there’s a lot more to that story.

Oh please, the argument was that there was some sort of standard that anyone striking an opponent as a coach gets fired. Yet that’s only been applied to Howard but not even the guy who went after two michigan players.
You can make the argument that Howard should be fired, but the standard you want doesn’t exist in ncaam. Just missing the Wisconsin involvement is ridiculous. The izzo fan telling me about standards is just too much.
Sports homer brain is a funny thing. Of course he should be fired. I’m sure he won’t, tho barely having a winning record probably gets him closer to a pink slip than lol trying to punch the other team.
