Fucking Elon.

Things are worse than we thought bc the ocean temperature thing was masked by sulfur dioxide emissions which we are no longer doing. So now we see where we’re really at. But maybe this points to a solution. A controversial solution but what are you gonna do.

The average homeowner in the Miami-Broward-West Palm Beach area is 57.4 years old , LendingTree reports. Only 6.6 percent of house or apartment owners in the area are below the age of 35.

Not a whole lot of motivation to move somewhere more safe from climate change.

I didn’t watch it all, but I’m sure its happening in the states to some extent

Motivation might be to salvage a dime for their heirs, but who cares

Certainly not most atomized families and considering the state of most eldercare

lol wtf are we even talking about

Some tide pool

At 3:10 they started talking about Ben Shapiros brilliant solution to climate change (moving somewhere else).

This is really horrible news. In a sane world, we would replace the cooling effect of this pollution with non-polluting aerosols while pulling out all the stops to deploy renewables faster, but we’ll probably just do nothing and just let the icecaps melt. Maybe India will fix it for us?

Yeah, if I was in charge I would roll the dice with the salt water brightening. The idea that we can’t do it because if it works, it will just demotivate the world to go to Carbon Zero is very frustrating.

Massive wildfires

In fucking Hawaii.

Oh yeah, things are perfectly fucking fine.

In the images from the fire you could really see how the high winds from the hurricane were fueling the fire and making it spread fast. Fires being pushes along with the fresh oxygen and force from hurricane winds would be the stuff of nightmares.

Yeah, its really no surprise the death toll is so high. It seems like it came out of nowhere, hit the largest population center on the island, and then spread like… well, wildfire. But that part of the world should not be subject to a giant wildfire that is fueled by a hurricane. Its insanity.

My mom also mentioned, and I’m not seeing this reported in many of the news areas which is a bit disconcerting, that Lahaina is a bit of a central location for the homeless of Maui as well, and it wouldn’t surprise her if a large portion of the deceased are from that community.

I’m surprised that the rain from hurricanes doesn’t mitigate it substantially.

My reading of it was that the hurricane is actually quite far away, but is creating higher than average winds on the island.

Might seem strange but there are actually parts of the islands that are very dry/almost desert like especially during the summer months. Lahaina is one of them, the big island also has some areas like that.

Hurricane was 500+ miles off shore, so the wind was affected but no rain I believe.

Doesnt the article say that there was high pressure system north of hawaii and with the hurricane south of it there was a huge pressure difference which caused these brutal winds?

Thanks. Makes sense.
