Same, that’s just too many trades for me to calculate effectively and still see the Rc8 move at the end that pins the queen.
What happens after Nd7 Bxa3?
I saw the weakness on c8 but had no idea how to take advantage of it, Nd7 wasn’t even a consideration to me it looked like d7 square was being guarded 5 times
Rxc7. No matter what you do you’re gonna lose your Queen for inadequate compensation.
eg:
…Bxa3
Rxc7 Bxc1
Rc8 Qxc8
Nxf6+ Kb7
Bxc8
Or alternatively:
…Bxa3
Rxc7 Rxd7
Bxd7 Bxc1
Rd8
Makes sense. Thanks.
magnus carlsen quit being the chess world champion just so he could commentate on chess boxing on a youtube channel
what a fall
Speed chess final tomorrow. Pinnacle has lines.
Magnus -266
Hikaru +183
Has to be free money on Magnus right?
I don’t think hikaru has ever beaten Magnus in a speed event of any kind?
So what kind of events has he beaten him in?
Id think he’d have at least one win in classical but maybe not, but there are no real events where they would have played a classical match against each other as far as I know.
Magnus has definitely beaten Hikaru in blitz events before. The odds are because he is playing like a demon in this event, demolishing Caruana with an undefeated 22-4, then crushing reigning world blitz champion MVL 17-9. I might bet Hikaru at those odds though, he and Magnus are in a different universe at bullet to the other two. Current bullet ratings on chesscom:
Magnus 3304
Hikaru 3267
MVL 3098
Caruana 3062
I meant I don’t think Hikaru has ever beaten Magnus in a speed match round, on like chess.com or whereever else. I watched two that he lost, but feels like a few years ago.
Hikaru has a famously bad record against Magnus in classical, it took him ages to get a win against him. He started crying at the end of one game back when he still had no wins and blew a winning position. He has a win or two now but still very bad. They are more evenly matched at speed chess, Magnus with the edge still.
lol I just bet the max on Pinnacle on Hikaru, the max was only $250, and I moved the line to +145. If any of you liked Magnus at -266 he’s -201 now, you’re welcome.
Don’t @ or quote me with spoilers I’ll watch the match delayed.
Going to guess Hikaru gets handled quite easily but should be fun, these things are a blast to rail
Damn thanks. Took the -200 a few hours later.
Well one of us probably has a good bet. I’ll miss the first half hour or so but be watching live after that.
