I’ve not even minimally dug into it, and am willing to assume it’s bullshit or highly exaggerated (through perhaps it isn’t). That said, people like Bourdain and Grohl thought he was legit.

not knowing is not the same as thinking he was “normal” as far as rock musicians are concerned. Yesterday’s episode of The Watch podcast (TV review guys) dedicated the first 13 minutes to him. I’m guessing they weren’t aware vs deciding the claims are an exaggeration/bullchit.

Ok, so I read that thing. It’s some post by an ex con with 14 substack followers that mainly goes after Albini for his friendship with some guy who is obviously a creep but is highly rhetorical and tries to tie the creeps worst deeds to Albini. Maybe there’s something there, and maybe Albini bought a German porno mag in the 80s when he was a young punk rocker, maybe he should be damned for eternity, but the article is inflammatory and misleading. He probably had some shitty friends among thousands and I don’t see anything in the article from the last 40 years.
