Did you curse Chi Chi? He died today.
Thatās why I posted the clip with Les Nessman.
Most boomer conversation ever itt
Will visit a YMCA vending machine in his honor.
RIP to a real one. Those are some good cookies
letās see 88, so he was born in 46, so he started the business at age 29? he was already famous at 29? from cookies? what the fuck am i doing with my life
If 88 he was born in '36.
Met him a couple times in Hawaii. Nice guy.
Famous Amos wasnāt really that famous. Famous Amos cookies were famous, but Amos didnāt own the cookies. Nor did he own the sobriquet āFamous Amos.ā Thus he was āfamousā Amos (despite the fact he was not really famous) not āFamous Amos.ā His company was the Cookie Kahuna, which no one has heard of.
I deleted because I did end up watching it to the end. Painfully boring. Still seems like that guy had a good chance at making it big again and could have found some way to market himself and at least he gets press for his story.
They donāt write 'em like that anymore. RIP
āJeopardyā was such a super-cool low-budget but fun early MTV video. And of course spawned one of the better Weird Al parodies.
My brother in law was not famous outside of his profession, but dammit if he didnāt leave an impact of this world strong enough to garner this piece. So I am selfishly going to post this here, as part of my grieving process. If thatās wrong, feel free to move or remove it.
I had written something up for the mental health thread (for my own mental health, not his, since that was not what precipitated his death), and may still post it, but for now, I just felt like sharing.
He sounds like an amazing person. Iām so sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing.
He is an inspiration. Iām sorry for your loss. Please come chat and share in the mental health thread if you feel the need.
Iām so sorry. Your sister and he seem to have shared a magical story. Not many live a life wherein they manage to touch so many in such a unique and admirable way.
