That movie fucked me up so bad as a kid. The world never looked the same.
His short scene in JFK was so awesome.
You should check out Don’t Look Now if you haven’t seen it
Kelly’s Heroes is my Donald Sutherland movie.
What movie is this?
Italian job
Animal House had no budget, and both John Landis and Belushi were getting paid peanuts. The studio laughed when Sutherland first requested 250k to be in the movie.
They didn’t want to pay him more than four figures for his day or two of planned work.
He finally got them to pay him his “personal rate” of 25K per day. He rejected their prior offer of getting not much more cash, but 2% of all of the profits on the back end.
He said, “Nah, I’ll take my money now.”
I’ve had consulting clients want to pay in equity. I’ve said no every time. Hasn’t cost me yet.
A bird in the hand
The song alone should put him in the other thread, and I have little doubt a bit of research would land him there as well.
Butterfly was obviously terrible, but I actually kinda liked that Starry Eyed Surprise song he did.
I always thought of that as a Oakenfold song. He just sang the lyrics.
I mean, technically, it is.
But I’ve always had a hard time calling it “the song” of the DJ and not the person singing. That might just be a “me” thing.
