I believe it was Rob Schneider who told that story. They don’t name the writer though.
Got a couple other fucked up ones in there too.

I’m all for making fun of Steven Seagal, but Schneider is also a huge turd.
Seagal is infamous for being the worst SNL host in history. His one karate sketch is amazing.
What a fantastic coach he was. I remember watching that UCLA-Princeton upset vividly — last game on Thursday night, CBS stuck with it the whole way and we were not disappointed.
He died 12 years ago, but today’s his 100th B-day.
“We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.”
What struck me as I began to study history was how nationalist fervor–inculcated from childhood on by pledges of allegiance, national anthems, flags waving and rhetoric blowing–permeated the educational systems of all countries, including our own. I wonder now how the foreign policies of the United States would look if we wiped out the national boundaries of the world, at least in our minds, and thought of all children everywhere as our own. Then we could never drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, or napalm on Vietnam, or wage war anywhere, because wars, especially in our time, are always wars against children, indeed our children.
I am convinced that imprisonment is a way of pretending to solve the problem of crime. It does nothing for the victims of crime, but perpetuates the idea of retribution, thus maintaining the endless cycle of violence in our culture. It is a cruel and useless substitute for the elimination of those conditions–poverty, unemployment, homelessness, desperation, racism, greed–which are at the root of most punished crime.
Nations are not communities and never have been. The history of any country, presented as the history of a family, conceals the fierce conflicts of interest (sometimes exploding, often repressed) between conquerors and conquered, masters and slaves, capitalists and workers, dominators and dominated in race and sex. And in such as world of conflict, a world of victims and executioners, it is the job of thinking people, as Albert Camus suggested, not to be on the side of the executioners.
Behind the deceptive words designed to entice people into supporting violence – words like democracy, freedom, self-defense, national security – there is the reality of enormous wealth in the hands of a few, while billions of people in the world are hungry, sick, homeless.

THAT’S SOCIALISM!

Is Queen Elizabeth II terrible or non-terrible? Because she seems on her way out.
Prince Philip was clearly terrible, not sure about Liz.
She had a job in the fight against the Nazis in WWII. As a truck driver and mechanic. Automatically disqualifies her for the other thread.
It’s kind of hard to tell because of the propaganda, but if she is a total monster she’s really good at hiding it for almost a century. Most likely she has a bunch of bad beliefs and views because of the environment she grew up in. It’s a condemnation of monarchs and generationally recent families that she gets fawning praise and a whole hagiographic Netflix series just for being somewhat decent.
Yeah. Just read an article that talked about how hardworking she was for reading government documents and briefs for 3 hours a day.
She had probably been shitposting on some monarch forum for 2 and half of these 3 hours.
She was the head of state of the original WOAT empire responsible for the untold death and suffering of millions of people for over a thousand years. More recently, she covered for a serial sexual abuser while also demonizing someone because of their race. I think she belongs in the other thread.
I don’t think the British would even crack the top 10 of worst empires. It certainly didn’t last 1,000 years.
Britains WOAT empire record breakers
OK, but other empires include Carthage (child sacrifice), Rome (brutally murdered so many Carthaginians that it was considered excessive even by the standards of the day), Holy Roman Empire (crusades, inquisitions), Huns (Attila), Mongols (all those Khans), Aztec (human sacrifice), Inca (human sacrifice), etc. etc. Being colonized by the British seems pretty tame by comparison.
I love these crossover threads:

In sheer numbers and magnitude of lives ruined, people massacred, and cultures and peoples destroyed and wiped from existence, they win easily.
