There are a lot of corporations that stand to make a ton of money by denying climate change and preventing things like the Paris agreement. There are bad people on both sides.
I don’t trust the politicians. I trust the scientists. They could make a lot more money by supporting the fossil fuel industry, but they choose to disagree. Why should I distrust the scientists?

The multinational corporations who profit from industries that emit greenhouse gases are worth billions. The scientists probably make more money going against climate change for those companies than they would working for a university or a government. Do you agree?

The climate denial makes sense now in that light.
He doesn’t want to believe that climate change is going to cause things to change in society and his “rights” to be infringed upon.
And he doesn’t want his “rights” to be infringed upon to do the things necessary to slow down climate control so that the world isn’t ruined for his children and grand children.
So he just puts his head in the sand.
With covid, he doesn’t want to believe that this quarantine is going to last for many months to come so he puts his head in the sand.
News Flash: Your “rights” are going to be infringed upon for the next year+ so you will have plenty of time to get used to it and realize it’s not, in fact, worse than dying.
