The real challenge with having such an extraordinarily vile person as your pick is, āHow can the writeup match the man?ā Sometimes, the person you pick has such a litany of disgusting activities that you feel as though you canāt create a writeup that accurately conveys how horrible a pick is without writing an entire biography. As a result, I feel that this writeup will not meet the expectations you likely all have because a writeup on an internet forum is not the proper format for covering my distaste for this person.
It started innocent enough. His childhood was uneventful though it was filled with privileges few people had. His first two years as a college undergraduate were not filled with extraordinary academic accomplishments or really accomplishments of any kind. Despite that, he was able to transfer to a more prestigious university where he was able to graduate with an undergraduate degree despite his poor academic performance.
As a student, he was able to use his fatherās connections and money to avoid serving in Vietnam four times, the last of which led to him being permanently ineligible for military service. Even with this in mind, he has taken more than a few shots at the men and women abroad while simultaneously claiming to support them.
Contrary to his statements, he was not a competent businessman. As a matter of fact, it was shown that he would have been better off investing his money in the stock market and leaving it alone than going into the real estate business. Weāre talking about somebody so woefully incompetent that he couldnāt generate enough profit to operate a casino, a place that mathematically generates a profit without any hands-on activity.
Weāre talking about a man who filed for bankruptcy six times, borrowed billions from banks for decades and soon after the 80s, Deutsche Bank was the only bank that would loan money to him. He got so desperate that eventually he turned to a man who will likely be a first round pick to keep himself afloat.
While he had run for the presidency in the past, it was a joke. It gave the press something fluffy and humorous to write about for a bit. After all, how would this idiot ever succeed in politics if he couldnāt succeed in business? But that never stopped him. He knew it was a grift and people continually fell for it. So why not do it again? Get your money and then spend four more years complaining about how the country has gone to hell. Itās absolute perfection.
Unfortunately, his campaign worked too well and he was in too deep. Once he has the backing of the party, he was committed to the race and had to see it through. He seemed to do everything wrong. It almost seemed like he wanted to destroy himself but no matter what he did it never worked. If anything, people loved him more. While he loved the adulation his supporters gave him, he hated the criticism even more. He had never faced the level of hatred on a platform so large. He was miserable but he also in some ways relished the ability to have an enemy to blame his failures on. With a chance of a lifetime, a group to constantly to blame his incompetence on, and a pliable organization to bend to his will, he had a de facto single-party state where there would be no consequences for his actions. So, why not see how far you can push it?
To this day, he is still pushing the envelope on what is acceptable in America and he has faced little resistance in that endeavor. He will continue to weaken the barriers that protect democracy until they are no longer barriers. He will continue to destroy the lives of the 99% just to get the love of the 1%. And despite that, 50% of the country will believe he is Making America Great Again.
