Being a mod or admin is intolerable, and this community is at a high risk of dying

I didn’t say I probably should have been banned. I agreed to take a ban. Don’t twist my words into a criticism of goofy. In any event, when since then I have “taken a shot” at you specifically. My beef has been with jalfrezi, and to a lesser extent d2, and fidget, and I guess churchill.

Just mod some new people and see how it goes. Keed, PC and beetlejuice would be a great start.

I’ll be the first to apologize to the poor soul who was victimized in this case. We’ll take our chances until then

no, i meant goofy? Goofy is no longer a mod, he asked to be demodded so I obliged.

ETA: I see why you think I meant skydiver, no, I was responding to the preceding sentence.

Ohhhh, ok good (not that losing goofy is a good thing.) I misread the post you were replying to

I don’t want to be a mod, but if selected, I would not shirk the duty. I don’t think I could commit to doing it for longer than microbet has chosen to because I would try to document everything.

Some people have pushed the idea of randomly selected rotating mods. I would like someone to show what that would be like by using a randomizer to select five posters and asking them if they would like to be mods instead of seeking volunteers.

I’m on board with this, too. Enough with the polls. Mods have power and should be able to use it without a poll for every decision.

Imo the only polls should be to vote mods in or to recall them.

A special thank you to all the selfish motherfuckers who kept/keep escalating this bullshit to the breaking point. Almost two years of a pretty good thing in the toilet because you fucking infants can’t drop it.

I’d still say she’s a favorite to resign within a week.

I would even be against those because then mods will last for like 10 minutes before a poll pops up demanding that they be recalled. It’d just be more drama.

This…if the drama persists.

I’m not sure if people really appreciate how good of a place this is for political discussion compared to what’s out there.

Seriously, this is probably one of the top places out there for this type of discussion. There’s way more civility here even with the forum drama than nearly every other place out there.

Not a huge sample size, but not a single one of my detractors put up a recall poll on me when I asked them to.

Being in a clique doesn’t mean you’re in the right. They shouldn’t have to force you to leave

They should absolutely force me to leave if half of the things they said about me were true.

lol what are you guys doing

Appreciate you acknowledging that you think the gig is permanent.

Just reading this thread should make it obvious why. Like 75% of the people have no actual clue about the details of what happened last week, but reflexively take the side of the mods.

There is literally zero way to argue against this post in good faith, as the kids like to say.

That’s not what happened at all. For some reason, RegretS bumped a dormant thread. Some people couldn’t let things go and needed to rehash old arguments. As of now, there are over 1000 posts in the C-word thread after this post.

That was the first time a mod stepped into the most recent spat. Skydiver was justifiably annoyed that it was happening again.

Let’s be clear about what she threatened.

She threatened to ban a user for using a word in a context that a member of the community flagged as being used in a bad context. She didn’t threaten to ban anyone for using the word in an unflagged post. And she threatened to ban posters who cause drama over this tired debate, even if they don’t use that word.

Isn’t that evidence that the mods, you know, are doing a good job?
