I mentioned it earlier but it took me 5 months to get my first SSDI check after I was approved. I’m not surprised it’s gonna take 4 months. The government is SLOW when it comes to sending out checks.
Part of this is due to budget cuts that force the IRS to use obsolete tech. I think they still need people who can program in COBOL.

I agree. It is crazy the four stooges want to hold up the bill because a few people who got laid off from their job might not return to work as quickly.
Who cares. They just have to beat the drum on hating poor people.
Nobody who isn’t layed off or fired can do that, so I guess the ball is in their court on that.

Wait can someone explain how the unemployment is working? You get 100% of your salary covered?
I thought they just increased the max you could receive, but you still only got like 60% of your regular pay or w/e.

It varies by state, but whatever the maximum was they are adding an additional 600 dollars per week.

I’m not gonna lie that does sound pretty crazy. People will be getting like 1k+ a month while grocery store workers etc on the front lines gonna be making 400 a week.
Obv I don’t give a shit about giving people money, but give some money to the people out there risking their safety to be on the front lines too.
though I guess it helps the people who won’t be getting their jobs back in 4 months.

Regardless nobody gets to just choose to be unemployed and get it. Its to help those who have been laid off/fired because of this and have no option to get back into the workforce, ya know, because everything is shut down right now.
CNN makes it sound like you get whatever your normal state benefits would be PLUS auto $600 for everyone from the federal gov.
