Bailout / Stimulus Discussion (Hints Missed & Shartz Fired)

More details:

The funding is $70B from the Disaster Relief Fund and the payments last until that balance goes to $25B.

So $50B at $300 each is 16M payments. So <1 week right now.

But again, there is zero mechanism to distribute this <1 week supply of money anyway.

If it’s got you down that much, you should at least move to a decent state. Move northeast or to one of the Pacific states.

I do feel a little insulated from a lot of this nonsense.

Take break, get outside, log off. The responses just expressing nihilism about literally everything to anyone posts is just exhausting to read constantly.

Actually, from the text of the EO:

“To provide financial assistance for the needs of those who have lost employment as a result of the pandemic, I am directing up to $44 billion from the DRF at the statutorily mandated 75 percent Federal cost share be made available for lost wages assistance to eligible claimants, to supplement State expenditures in providing these payments.”

So up to $44B only, so <15M payments so maybe half of one week’s recipients.

And only as cost share so if states don’t pay $100 (hint: they are mostly broke) then I’m not sure this $300 will even happen.

Here’s an article about the backroom dealings of Nancy Pelosi. Based on what we read here, you’d think she’s a horrible caver. In this article, she sounds almost exactly like cuse and others with his desire to play extreme hardball. It’s from the Washington Post.

The more I read the more I think this UE ploy will backfire. People aren’t actually going to get the money. Trump doesn’t have it and the states aren’t set up to distribute it.

I’m in PA and my options to play online poker are PA, NJ, NV, DE. I can’t do much better currently.

It does sound like they have a pretty tough needle to thread.

The Trump team is the strongest group of competent administrators ever.

They’re the best at lol fuck you this country has ever seen.

Yeah, if they were competent we’d be 100% for sure fucked. As it is, I think we’re about 30 to 40% likely to be fucked. Which isn’t exactly comforting, but there is at least as likely a chance that this blows up in their faces.

It’s oddly smart to go for almost any possible high variance option at this point. If all this shit fails they’ll probably just false flag a terrorist attack or nuke Iran or something.

Yeah Trump instinctively gets some things and the Dems don’t. So mashing the high variance button for 3 months adds tons of EV. Hopefully the Dems can avoid unforced errors.

You should read that article I posted if you haven’t already.

I had already seen it. I drew different conclusions.

Well, what was written in that article is exactly what you sound like, so that’s an interesting take.

Grunching a bit guys but corporate media has headlines that benefit corporations. What else do you expect.

My take is that eDems are leaking to make it sound like she’s playing hardball. It may or may not be true.

If the GOP is whining in the very particular way they are, she is playing hardball. She knows Meadows is an idiot and is probably trying to get him tossed from negotiations by back channeling this, especially with the shade where she called Trump maybe a clone of him.

My suspicion is the GOP never wanted a deal because they knew it would only pass the senate with Democratic support and they want no part of passing relief Republicans oppose.
