I’ve said that I don’t think 20 million people are going to be deported, but many will and perhaps in the millions. I don’t see it as a huge consolation that Trump is likely to come up short on his campaign promise when it’s still going to be massive and cause tremendous hardships.

I have zero problems with this. The dates are important. Hoping HCQ worked in March 2020 was reasonable. I personally was prescribing it then based on a french study (IIRC - going off the cuff here) that ended up being fraudulent.
Everything else was a big problem.

Focusing on the actual number of deported seems extremely short sighted. Declaring a state of emergency further consolidates power into the executive branch. Assuming his initial round of nominees gets confirmed, it will be that much easier to do it again, which seems highly likely since these picks are designed to undermine the competency of government as a whole.
None of that was Trump though. The tax cuts were Paul Ryan. The rest was Moscow Mitch. Trump just rubber stamped it all.
I’m not saying it won’t be bad. It will be. But JD Vance as POTUS enacting the same policies would be 100x more effective than the Dotard.

idk exactly what you’re referring to, but texas that wants to make dying in childbirth like it’s the 1800’s again, it just doesn’t impact that many people. texas increase in deaths after the ban was only 20 per 100000. (for white, black was about 13) yes I should source this after I googled it I’m not arguing further, I just wanted to make the point. Basically whatever you do normally, go to work, buy stuff in a store, go home, watch TV, go from point A to B, whatever you do for fun, privilege or not, that’s all most people end up doing in four years.

I also hate the “he is too lazy” argument. The guy who is border czar is a world class expert on executing mass deportation. His entire career has been heading for this. He is obviously skilled enough to execute. Sure he might not hit 20 million but who cares? He will succeed in deporting a massive number of people and causing huge harm.
