Yeah. They’re being pretty secretive though. I guess in case something goes wrong. They need to work on the marketing.
If you live in a country where public failures can end up in you disappearing then you would probably also only show your successes after you are sure it was a success. They also don’t need to convince the public that government should fund this. It is a shame as I would love to see more of what they have planned.
Apparently the EU is launching a Venus mission too. Great stuff, IIRC Venus missions have been extraordinarily difficult.
OFC the US is spying on the Chinese rover to make sure it doesn’t pull any shenanigans.

God dammit they’ve got a cuter rover.
Wow those are so awesome. The Iceland one is stunning.

Not bad for a helicopter only planned for 5 flights with a max duration of 90 seconds per flight.
It’s going to be ridiculous seeing this monster fly.
Holy shit.

If you watch the full video, the commentators don’t acknowledge anything has gone wrong until about 3 minutes into the flight. If the cuing doesn’t work, launch is at about 1:33:30.
There’s another angle here.

This is really cool. I can’t recall seeing such an obviously catastrophic problem that didn’t immediately result in an RUD.
I wonder if it was the same engine that had the problem the day before. Don’t know what the issue was.
CNN says there are dozens of small startups developing launch vehicles. Hard to believe there’s so many people who look at this business and think this is easy.
SpaceX is planning to launch Inspiration 4 tomorrow with the launch window opening around 8 P.M. EDT. They have a customized Dragon 2 with a giant bubble in place of the docking port so the all civilian crew can take in the sights during their 3 days in low earth orbit. Much cooler than the billionaire spaceflights in July, IMO.
Idk I find the “civilian” space flight stuff revolting.
Valentina was basically a civilian and she almost did 3 full days in LEO back in the 60’s.
