I think it’s (some) cosmic rays.
No one will believe it but NASA is developing replacements for these using (rebranded) cold fusion.

My guess: row 2, column 1
Aw yeah, new Elden Rings planet just dropped:

I found another article that has examples of some of the targets
One is an exoplanet that NASA doesn’t have a real image example of and another is a region with lots of gravitational lenses that might let us see some really old galaxies, the other 3 we already have some great pictures of:
Carina nebula
Southern Ring nebula
And the one I’m most looking forward to, Stephan’s Quintet
Wait, do they think they can get an optical image of an exoplanet?
We’ve already done that, I think the plan for WASP-96 b is to figure out what its big fluffy atmosphere is made of
About 1 hour and 12 minutes until we get the first picture.
They’re now saying 5:30 eastern time.
When they finally manage to wrangle Biden in front of a camera the images will go live here:
Hooooooly shit this is awesome. Give us the damn picture!
Photo is up!
I caught the end when the old codger that wasn’t Brandon was saying that the telescope captured images from 13 billion years ago, and that the Big Bang was 13.8 billion years ago. Wild.
