Afghanistan Wars: The Taliban Strikes Back.

If the Taliban wanted to then they could have killed almost every westerner in Kabul once they got there. Of course that only invites retaliation and drone strikes till there is nothing but rubble left so they did the smart thing and just let everyone go. That terrorist attack was either a warning to hurry up and leave or something the Taliban didn’t actually wanted to happen.

Oh it’s a rep from Oklahoma. Markwayne Mullin. Here he is on Jan 6 cowering in fear of the people he panders to.

The Taliban is almost certainly not in cahoots with ISIS-K, and didn’t want that attack to happen.

Yeah that attack was more likely to be the cia than the Taliban.

Yeah. It’s one where Ann Coulter is still relevant.

And also one where based on just that tweet, she was in favor of withdrawing troops from Afghanistan.

As far as I know the Afghan government wasnt even invited to the talks in Doha. So not sure you can say the cut deals with them. It is too early to tell to say laying down weapons was a good idea. At least the reports from the rural areas suggest otherwise. Sugarcoating the situation doesnt help anyone.

So which country is next?

Biden should try nation building in Alabama and Mississippi. I am concerned about the welfare of women and children there.

It’s code level brown going forward.

Even after the concerted media tantrum he’s still posting this. Biden is literally taking on the deep state. I’m full B Anon. Sure his speeches are sometimes a bit cryptic, as if he’s an old man who isn’t sure what year it is but that’s all to throw them off the scent. You just got the do the research and follow the clues.

Normally, regressives end up losing in these socially conservative issues in the long run but fuck, it really looks like they won.

Gonna be a lot of abortion alleys and dumpster babies popping up in the future.

Maybe we’ll get a new Missing in Action trilogy out of this!

Yeah dude democrats have been completely out maneuvered. With the new voting restrictions in TX, it’s going to be solid red for a long long time. There was so much hope, I remember thinking TX was going to go blue in 2020 lmao.

Republicans have every angle covered. I don’t see how we crawl out of this hole.

Believe it or not, they can talk to each other without the US, have been for years and that’s most definitely for the best:

The only thing to be “mad” about is that the US were played for suckers and were outmaneuvered. They stupidly thought we will just peace out, let the Afghans keep fighting each other, have a “great withdrawal” from our perspective and then the Taliban will eventually win in a couple of years. Instead the Afghans got together and said we have more in common with each other than the stupid Americans, let’s just divy the American loot, hand the government over to the Taliban who have the actual governing coalition in this country and call it a day.

To be clear, all sane Americans shouldn’t actually be “mad,” they should be very happy that the bloodshed stopped and the Afghans resolved their war more peacefully than they could have imagined. Instead, of being “embarrassed” like the media is telling us to be because of the hit to American prestige non-sense.

Habs disagreement I think comes from saying that the Afghan puppet government negotiated a more peaceful solution then continued war. You’re quite right that actual Afghanis, some of whom were previously working for the government, were involved in doing that with whatever personal authority they could muster, and that that’s far better than fighting on the whole, but it isn’t exactly the same thing. I suppose from your point of view it’s splitting hairs, and maybe it is, but I do think that perspective captures the extent to which the power structure the Americans set up was swept away.

The American puppet government relied on bribing actual Afghans, who then went behind our backs and cut deals with the Taliban. The distinction is completely artificial. That is the real scandal, that we were bribing these people that clearly had no natural interest in fighting to kill each other for 20 years. Like real life human cockfighting. Instead the media is telling us to be mad that the cockfighting stopped a few weeks earlier than we had hoped.

To be clear, I’m sure there are plenty of individual Afghans who did really want to fight the Taliban to the death and there are individuals who are very scared that the Taliban are taking over right now. Like in our countries, Afghans have a wide perspective of nuanced views. I’m just describing the situation as I see it as a whole.
