I was gonna quote a QG post and give my fellow lurker opinion about CN/Ikes. But since he’s (QG)being attacked as a bigot rn and i dont know his posting history, Ill keep it about myself.

I didn’t lurk 2p2 politics until 2015 so all i know about CN is the hilarious Trump bet and everything since. Also he played soccer.and got scammed by potripper.

I respect CN as a poster in the same way I do/did Victor, Senor Keed and Awice. People who for.the most part posted in good faith and despite being othered and bullied by the clique, maintained composure and didnt stoop down to similar levels.

Also as someone who has suffered from addiction and mental illness since adolescence, it offends me that people seems to be using those to defend asshole behavior. Or try to treat telling.somone obviously spiraling and being aggressive to “get help” as attacking those problems.

I guess im “lucky” enough that Im super nice to randoms and reserve my assholeness for people close to me. The majority of people I know think Im an incredible person. The people Im assholes to know me and care about me so I get some rope.

But if one legitimately wants to improve these issues, we have to stop using them as excuses for behavior and accept it a cross we must bare.

Please dont connect me with the same political views as the posters I mentioned Awice thought Trumps BS was an act and was gonna moderate for the general. Mbn to play bad and get there. And Victor’s pro Russia pro Hamas (we all know he’s pro Hamas before Gaza) are views that can only be had by ppl brainwashed by tankies.

Again i dont know about CN’s earlier posting and imo anyone still GOP after 2008 is suspect. And.whatever these ninja editing post accusations are about.

But from a moderation aspect, telling someone spiraling and abusive to get help is different from bringing up a personal story in a political debate.

Also Ive been pro Bernie since 2011 Black Friday made me pay attention. And ive stopped talking to my brother who is cheering deportations; despite his UK wife overstaying her student visa and illegally working in a LA industry job that “Americans” actually want to work.

Just to describe my politics.

Don’t know the specifics on what Wichita said, but I’ll just say that he’s one of my favorite posters here (when he’s not doing the nasty back and forth with CN). I hope his ban is shortened and that he sticks around.

I was being flippant and exageretting for effect. At 18 i thought it was super fucked up. Now middle aged and taking care of kids myself, i think trying to moderate an asthma attack with steam before driving to doctor and not being seen for an hour plus is the right choice.

I do love how i try and give my opinion with personal details, and put effort into a good faith post. And noone is engaging with the substance, Just people that hate CN trying to score points with drivebys.

Ill leave you guys to it. See you in a year.

ETA. I was 8 in 91. Only referencing what i thought in young adulthood and what i think now.

Just so Im not attacked as being an out of touch old.

As far as the rest is concerned, that discussion has been had here in some form many, many times, so it no longer interests me and I don’t really engage anyone on that.

I just know BG likes the Braves like I do and I was trying to connect. Not exactly a positive memory but one that sticks out.

My all-time favorite childhood memory is the 1992 Duke/UNC game where Montross was bloody. We lived in NC and my parents went to either school.and were huge fans.

We kids had been bad and there was no TV for a week. So my dad waa listening to game on radio but my mom watched it on TV and let me too.

And during breaks wed get together and talk about game but my martyr father went back to radio when game resumed.

They separated months later. Maybe this should be in mental health thread. Why are these what i remember?

I said MtF trans people probably shouldn’t be allowed in competitive level women’s sports. You can think whatever you like about this view. I’m not trying to discuss this in the thread (or on this forum at all, or anywhere at all to be honest) I am just giving context of BG’s dumb post. BusinessGenius has extrapolated this to “QuantGamble wants to put trans people in camps.” Whether he believes this or is just being a douchebag for kicks i have no idea.

I’m not gonna get into that issue and I think it’s a live wire in the same way you can’t have a moderate view of Israel/Gaza without both sides hating you.

But you being specifically upset by MtF people instead of overall fairness of gendered/birth year youth sport classification makes me question if my own views are objective or biased by prejudice.

Young women arent these precious flowers that need to be protected in sports and bathrooms from shady trans people working the system.

My main issue is that its being presented as similar to minorities being excluded from playing sports with “whites”. The solution to that wasnt letting light skinned minorities who were raised white play too. It was getting rid of an unnecessary segregation.

And ive yet to see someone argue that youth sports itself is toxic and should be structured for inclusion rather than competition.

Maybe its changed but sports in my HS were basically tall strong athletic kids with parents who could afford to have their kids in sports from a young age. The literal last ppl who need sports to help them.

If were gonna make sports about inclusion then we should let premature birth and malnourished kids play in lower age brackets. Or favor unpopular kids over trust fund assholes when making the cut. Dont lots of sports favor left handers or right handers?

How many more kids couid play sports if they had restrictions on what deodorant and other allergens kids could wear? Or take outdoor sports indoor? Im gonna guess it’s way more than trans kids trying to play sports.

Trans people face hate that I as a white cis male can never understand. And i get that it’s so few instances so just let them play. But it seems for most people this is either a subjective opinion people come to once they realize somone they love is trans. Or a liberal cause celebre.

But that’s not how you shouid make policy. And from my experience with my ex’s trans roommates and friends, this pronoun and sports stuff is superfluous and uniquely first world white people bullshit.

Don’t get me started on how a bunch of American spanish speakers are fighting to end gendered language.

Seriously America is too rich and too bored and just looking for shit to feel victimized by.

I don’t think that thread is supposed to be a safe space; if I recall correctly there is a safe space thread but it isn’t that one. Though your post would be fine in the safe space thread too.

My thoughts:

(1) You make the same (weird to me) assumption that people seem to make around here: because i posted about a topic it must be something i think about a lot / care about / makes me angry / whatever. When the reality is more that I saw someone being Wrong (in my opinion) On The Internet and waded in. Like many things, despite having a mild opinion on the topic, it’s not something I particularly care about or even think about unless someone else brings it up.

(2) You do another thing that a lot of people seem to do which is to sort of argue afaict against the existence of women’s sports at all. Or arguments to the effect of things like “well Michael Phelps is a genetic freak and we don’t exclude him” and, well, okay. I haven’t gone back to first principles about what divisions should exist. I just think that the original ideas and general reasons for splitting out sports for women has a lot more to do with sex differences than it does about gender differences and so redefining the split to be about gender makes little sense.

(3) you make a mention about “shady people invading sports and bathrooms”. This is not anything close to what I believe. I have no issue with anyone using whatever bathroom they want and I don’t believe anyone is changing genders for sporting advantage.

(4) Cue obligatory Wookie post about how 0.3% of people are intersex so dividing by sex is impossible

Obviously this should be moved to the other thread, or maybe a camp.

(5) Also, despite having a mild layman’s opinion on the topic, I am happy to let individual sport governing bodies do there thing and whoever they ultimately decide to let play in what division is fine with me. But (again in my opinion, again only at competitive levels) they should approach the issue from the standpoint of competitive fairness and not from the seemingly common idea that dividing by anything other than self-identified gender is somehow anti-trans or discriminatory

Not really inferested in litigating what happened other than to say that I don’t think we should be deleting users posts. It allows trolls like Ike’s to claim insane shit like I was “mocking his disability” which sounds really bad! The only problem is the “disability” was him blowing out his knee on the bunny slopes at a fancy ski resort and tearing his ACL. Which is only a disability in white priviige land.

Also LOL at anyone who didn’t realize my overall point which is an alleged medical doctor constantly diagnosing people with mental illness in anger is some really gross and unethical shit. Following me around from forum to forum for months was intensely annoying and I had enough. Turning this into a referendum on whether doxxing is allowed here(of course it isnt) did allow Ike’s to avoid scrutimy for most on his own behavior(and time to have the mods delete his posts which again is a reason we shouldn’t be deleting posts) so well played Ike’s well played. I find it hiliarious that as soon as I’m banned Ike’s was here dishonestly posting about promoting unity as if that was the goal here.

Good job Ike’s you really worked those mods and bans as always.
