I think that politics is an area where “no personal attacks” isn’t really a viable rule. People care too much. This isn’t some hoity toity salon for “enlightened” political discourse. We shouldn’t ban ad hominem attacks on other posters because those are a natural part of political discourse, but we can set limits of decorum on these attacks.
I would probably make a rule against profanity directly towards another poster. I don’t think we should ban all swearing, but people should be better about learning to use words. I also probably wouldn’t make this a ban-worthy offense unless someone is repetitive about it in a short span. I’d allow “f— you” but not “fcuk you”. I wouldn’t mind it if we explicitly made it a rule for no profanity, direct or indirect, in thread titles, but make an exception for if Trump dies.
I’d be willing to ban hate speech, where the term is to be interpreted using a biased left-of-center definition. We can argue over what that means and how far left. Again, I’d probably start off with warnings instead of immediately banning someone, but I would eventually temp-ban someone if they persisted.

Victor made an agreement with a third party where he demanded, and got, money to leave. His issue is with that third party.
I’d be surprised if one other person thinks this site, the mods here, should have to clear it with goofy. I don’t even think goofy himself would say that. Well, maybe Wookie would.

If goofy wants back in after apologizing to victor (and the community) and victor is ok with it, I won’t object.

It looks like he requested an account deletion or anonymization, he isn’t in the suspended or silenced users list.
We’ve tried that before. Note that the post before that is an experiment in manually setting trust levels that also didn’t work out very well.

Max, Hokie and Cassette are prime cases of the nicest people around who never got into it with anyone and then actually took a look at what the banlusters were doing and objected and then got cast as problems.
6ix a prime case of how thin skinned and intolerant this place is and how that leads to people being unchallenged and this place being far less interesting because of it.
You lost Cassette and 6ix. Hokie has been back and mostly contributing very positively, but Ikes is trying to label him as a problem case again.
Max has been fucking around, yeah, but anyone who pays attention to the people around them (I guess that’s not many people) would remember how nice he was for years and maybe reflect on how the banlusters keep doing this to nice people…and I’m sure this isn’t the end of that.
